Wow... What a time! Crab shumai (dumplings) were to die for.
Good for biz lunch but for dinner sushi of gari is just across the street
Low key fun place with delish food and readably priced wine
Very friendly staff
Went here in a whim and I'm glad I did!
Measly portions but it's pretty damn delicious. Try the broiled fish!! Soft and melts in the mouth!
Great sushi place!! Always fresh food. The specials are always good, especially the baby yellow tail sashimi.
Great, affordable sushi. Get an order of ohitashi to start and follow with some nigiri, sashimi, or maki.
Duck with balsamic and sushi deluxe are legit
The Best of All Time & Japanese Restaurants in NYC
Good una don here.
Delicious sushi/sashimi. Take the choice out of it and go with the Sashimi Deluxe dinner specials.
It's not on the menu but order the Superman roll.
Decent sushi - bring a bunch of friends and get some sushi platters to share.
Chirashi and sashimi were excellent. Great value. Casual, clean, and delicious.
The black cod was a great appetizer. The sushi was pretty good, but next time I would go for their other dishes as those seemed more interesting.
Excellent Sushi. I had the Sushi Dinner and added a Tiger Roll (which was a special); perfect for a good appetite.
They're super fast at preparing takeout orders. Sushi quality is A+.
My favorite affordable neighborhood sushi spot. Salmon sashimi is amazing. All of the rolls are good as is the rock shrimp tempura, crab shumai and shisito pepper skewers!
Come between 5-7pm for that Takahachi special! Great deal and comes with soup, salad and dessert!
Fresh and tasty sushi, friendly waiters
Delish but often busy. Come early or expect a wait. Take-out is an option too but sadly no delivery
Pretty reasonably priced sushi. Nothing fancy but hits the spot.
Some of the best sushi in town
Best sushi in the area. No reservations so come early or be happy to wait. Great sashimi dinner and plenty of sake options without the obnoxious crowd. Don't miss the beautiful artwork!
My favorite Japanese restaurant in NY. Fresh and tasty food, down to earth place and lovely Japanese staff .... always highly recommended: Wild shrimp tempura - miso soup - tiger roll etc ...
Authentic. Different. Place to explore. Was genuine but happily surprised by how quickly this became a favorite spot
This place serves up some of the best-tasting sushi you can find in the price range, and the staff is always professional.
My favorite sushi place in NY. Get the raw octopus if they have it
Love the Kinuta Maki (eel and avocado wrapped in cucumber). We actually get all of our sushi without rice and it's fantastic!
Reliable and affordable East Village sushi. The blackened tuna was a highlight and don't sleep on the Udon!
Best sushi! Best sushi chef! Ten star tuna tartar
Best sushi in the EV! Sushi for 2 is our go-to choice.
Miso soup = Must Try, the best in NY
My new go-to sushi spot. The fish is so fresh and for the price, it's unbelievable. The sea urchin hand roll, baby yellowtail, and salmon are all to die for. Also, jack is the man!!
As the only decent Japanese food in the on avenue A. And walking distance from my apartment! The spider roll is great! Spicy tuna, not so much.
From 5 to 7 every day $21.50 gets you miso soup, a salad, 4 appetizers, 4 skewers, a sushi roll, 3 nigiri pieces, a scoop of ice cream, and hot tea. One of the best deals in the East Village.
their chirashi is especially fresh and excellent. salmon, mackerel, and fluke are usually the best quality. best sushi for value and quality in the EV.
Can never go wrong with the Palm Roll and Dragon Roll
Best sushi for your dollar in the city!!!

My go-to sushi spot in the East Village. Sit at the sushi bar and chat with Jack, the chef. He's hilarious and the high quality + unique sushi here is an amazing bang for your buck.
Reasonable yes, but barely decent.
