Tan Son Nhat International Airport (IATA: SGN, ICAO: VVTS), is the largest airport in Vietnam. It is located 4 mi (6 km) north of the center (District 1) of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
Delay 03 hours 😡. What should I say?
See friend off.
Even with slow traffic, can reach town in about half an hour by cab. Cab fare about 100-150k.If u buy local SIM card, check that it works b4 you pay. Some telcos disallow personal hotspot sharing.
One of the worst airports in Asia. Involves moving in and out the building every time you need to do anything. Wifi is broadcasting but not working. Awful food options. And boring.
The food court is a pretty neat place for plane watching
Morning traffic is a massive orgy. Come at least 2 1/2 hours earlier to join in the queue for security checks.
Check in, immigration, and security screen is incredibly slow and inefficient. Budget your time accordingly! Also, the airport wifi is pathetic.
If you're near Gate 2 with Sasco Restaurant on the right side, connect to wifi SascoHoaMai1 with the password as :beta9999. (As of 29.06.2015)
Be here on time because lines for immigration and security are for almost 2 hrs
A very clean airport with free wifi and cute souvenir shops! ☺️
Hey there, I am coming
Wifi password for confetti is now 123456789
Why don't they have phone charging spots ? Make sure your phone is charged before coming to this airport
Do not fucking pay more than 10$ for taxi transfer from airport to city. You can get taxi booked at airport itself in 10usd
Can somebody explain to my why gates 10-14 are between 17 and gates 15-16?
Medium size International airport that recently made efforts to renovate specific areas.
Not so large but clean. The cafe on the third floor is good place for killing time, though a bit expensive in comparison to the price of Vietnam.
Tasty pho soup on the second floor! Amazing duty free, so many shops
Relatively smooth customs and immigration. Airport is small. Duty free prices are about 10% higher than India and about 5% than KL. however the collection is not bad.
There are nothing much to shop about within the airport (after clearing the custom).
Nothing is good here. The customs have nothing else better to do than harass you for money.
Bye see ya
No halal restaurant here..
No wifi until you enter th boarding area...
No big issues on arrival or departure but they go through your bags more often than necessary and the visa on arrival thing can be a pain, especially if you don't have cash on you.
Be prepared to wait a while for your visa on arrival. There is no order in which they process applications. Have exact amount, ID photo and arrival form ready.
Departures Immigration pasport too slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Not as messy and chaotic as HCM city which is good! Decent duty free shopping on international departures.
Whenever meet someone, say to meet at which number of column.
Clean and in order, mei lin taxi is okay :))
Welcome to ex-Saigon 西貢, now known as Ho Chi Minh City 胡志明市 after 1970s North & South Vietnam united named after the late Communist leader of North Vietnam
Plus, on the way back to leave vietnam, at the airport, i asked to buy 50VND credit but they made mistake and charged me 100 VND......
Only to my friend the worker ask to show his return ticket. Ours is e-ticket. No wifi in the airport so couldn't show. They did not care and help. If i didnt run to find way out, he'd still b there.
Cash ATM past customs. Speed off your plane to get to immigration firs to avoid queuing. ✈️
Custom control might be one of the fact to tell tourists not to come back to Vietnam.
Ask for a taxi from the friendly staff just after customs, they'll call you a car and you can pay in advance. Reasonably priced, it's the green & white stand at the end.
Good morning, Vietnam! ATM after immigration and baggage claim.
Nice people, nice place
Surprisingly no post box or post office. If you plan to send postcards better to do it in the city or ask in your hotel before leaving.
Took long time for the immigration both arrival and departure
A small and peaceful airport. The lounges and restaurants are upstairs. It has a long corridor of local souvenir shops. The gem section is my favorite :)
Not the most efficient airport. Free WiFi.
All the cafes in the departures lounges suck! 👎
Small airport, very messy (people not respecting lines whatsoever). Not a big choice of where to eat. Found black hair in my Singapore noodles in the fancy place at the domestic terminal.
Expect multiple security, passport, visa checks and strict border guards. Shops are overpriced but your last chance to get souvenirs (like coffee). Free WiFi!
