"Tayyabs' long-marinated grilled lamb chops remain one of life's great savoury pleasures - a complex hit of sweet 'n' smoky, hot 'n' spicy flavour, edged with a crisp, blackened strip of fat..." Read more

BYO at Tayyabs which keeps things cheap, but at the weekend show up earlier than you want to eat because the (not really justifiable) queue - even if you book - will leave you ravenous.

    Mark Bowerman · October 11, 2009
  • Lawrence W.

Go to Tayyabs and ignore the curries- they are good but not amazing. However the lamb chops are the best in London. Oh and book a table too.

If you have room left for desserts, give the Raas Malai a try. Delicious! Haven't tasted any this good in all of London

I have died and gone to heaven several times at this joint. Mixed grill, saag aloo and chana masala FO LIFE. Makes a girl happy. I can now sleep with a big smile.

Watered down mango chutney, poor mango lassi and tasteless rice. Don't get me started on the price of "not large" main course. As for the rude service, a lesson in how not to run a restaurant. Avoid.

The foursquare rating system has gone a bit crazy here, the food is very average, the staff are highly uninterested, plates and glasses are dirty, they don't serve tap water, and its cavernously large

    Dan · August 16, 2014

Lamb chops are as good as everyone says they are. Food is good & cheap! Definitely a great place!

After sitting down they brought over a bottle of water. They charged us £2.50 for it. I asked they to take it off the bill as we hadn't asked for it. They refused, speaking to me like I was a criminal

    Graeme Milroy · September 10, 2012

After reading reviews on Foursquare, Tayyabs is over-rated. Food is good, but average. But the overall bullying to get you out of there is enough to leave you with indigestion!!

Careful when paying by card. They will pretend the machine is not working to make you pay in cash. Say you don't have cash and suddenly the machine will start to work. Awful behaviour.

We were told this is the best curry house in London. We went 30 minutes out of our way on the tube to get here, plus a bit of a walk. 100% worth it.

  • Mayur M.

It has a very high rating here but I think otherwise. If you are a veggie, don't enter this place. Avoid weekends. Service was pathetic and staff was not interested at all.
