    The Whampoa Prawn Noodle here is very good but be prepared for long Q. The Duck rice along the same roll as the prawn noodle also has a long Q too.

    U can enjoy very cheap and good food, there is also wet market. u can buy some India goods. i like eating Indian food in here.

    Sri Lankan food. Rada Raja Bojun #01-280 has what journalist Anjali Raguraman of Sunday Times calls "the closest thing to Sinhalese cuisine". Feast on string hoppers, parippu (dhal), kale mallung, etc

    U can hardly find freshly shredded coconut in Sg wet markets now and in Tekka there are 3 stalls selling it. Even have fresh coconut milk. Really spoilt for choice!

    Chia’s Vegetables Supply (#01-129) has imported vegetables not usually found in other wet markets like fresh herbs and sage. Thumbs up for the friendly service too!

    omg I'm in love with tekka market - smorgasbord of hawker delights and the wet market sells EVERYTHING. + the cheery store owners really make this a wonderful place to shop.

    The Indian food are nice, cheap and authentic but I hate the disposable plastic utensils. Advice to bring your own fork and spoon.

    Wantan mee: Tried 2 stalls & d better-tasting 1 is Chin Seng Cooked Food #01-294. They seem to specialise in dumplings. Wantan was silky, char siew was thick (altho a bit salty). Opens fr 7am

    Kopi: Chinese-style. Not many stalls if u looking 4 a fix in d morning. After sampling d handful we cd find, Wah Heng @ #01-334 served d best. We cd taste d thick, strong brew. Zing!

    Prata: Zoomed in on Prata Saga Sambal Berlada (#01-258), based on 4SQ tip. Loved it! Crispy, freshly-made prata. Picked mixed curry over plain. Plus owners r a jovial lot, joking as they serve u :-D

    Freshly grated coconut: Stall 178 is d only 1 in d area. Pay premium of $3 per fruit (vs $1.50 @ Geylang Serai). They also stock up on wide variety of curry powders

    Lot of dum briyani & Indian food stalls, chuddidar/salwar shops stairs. Goat/Mutton, fish and veggitable shops around. MRT & busses connect it well. An POSB/DBS/OCBC ATM in it.

    One thing bad about the renovated Hawker Centre. The vents are not effective and walking through it leaves a heavy smell of cooking/oil on your clothes.

    While eating here, beware of the Used-Dishes carts that the cleaners push & inconsiderately park around. The danger is that impatient or blocked patrons push it out of their way and into your way :-/

    Mee Goreng at Samad's Tekka Dum Briyani smells and tastes so good. But spice lovers, please request for extra chilli as a normal serving may not leave you coming back for more. Their mee kuah also gd!
