Go for the newly built SkyCourt. Reasonable prices at KFC & Burger King. If you want to taste something Hungarian choose Szamos for their delicious marzipans or opt for pálinka at Heinemann Duty Free.

More seating in arrivals hall than in departures. Go downstairs to get a seat.

Horrible airport. Morning security checks very long: wifi (both free from telenor as well as paid from telekom) working unreliable. Nice stuff: buy the puszta salami. Very delicious

Check-in a security control is painfully slow, crowded and badly organized. Use the self check-in machines to ease at least some pain.

No need to run for your checked luggage, it will take an age to arrive even if you are on the only aircraft arriving at the time.

Actually I don't think that it matters which part of the termonal you use (2A or 2B) because the gates are between them.

Don't bother with the taxis, you can take a five minute bus ride to the Ferihegy train station. There are trains every 20 minutes that run to Budapest's Nyguti station near the west end mall.

British Airways. You can only drop baggage off 2 hours before the flight and there is nothing before security so don't arrive early!

Still chaos in the morning. Checkin 10 minutes, baggage dropoff additional 15 minutes, security check 30-40 more minutes. So, take your time and be there early enough.

Avoid the long queue by going to 2A for security check after baggage drop-off (long corridor next to the head of the queue)

Looks like someone didn't really think through the security screening process when designing this terminal. Be prepared to stand in a long, long singular line.

Chaotic and long lines at security, allow up to 45 minutes just to get to the security station. Lounges are poor. Airport needs an upgrade, soon.
