The official Heathrow Airport Foursquare page.
9 times out of 10 you are better off doing the self check in (particularly now that they've added a "typically British" queuing setup rather than first come first serve for check in desks
You can get breakfast with a good view of the planes here :)
Be prepared for lines at security
Even if flying Club Europe/ World, use the Economy bag drops - queues always move a lot quicker.
Prayer room called Multi-Faith room located Between the book shop and WHSmith
Very modern, bright and airy airport terminal.
Best terminal at Heathrow with a good selection of restaurants, shops, and services
the big white tables in the hall next to the south business lounge serve power plugs in all output types and nice chairs. perfect for getting work done.
Usually Terminal 5 has the fastest queue/or sometimes no queue at all for Tax Refunding

Have to take the lift from the train to departures.
Best terminal in london!
Give yourself extra time when coming from London. Terminal 5 is an additional 10 minutes west of main terminals 1-2-3.
Has some wonderful places to eat and is easy to navigate. Security is so quick I forget I'm going through it.
Never enough lifts working at anytime, car park prices are extremely expensive. Left to your own devices as never seems to be any staff around to help you on your way.
As airports go, this one is modern and has some good places to eat. Go to Carluccios before you go through security.
Make sure you are waiting at upstairs carport if you expect your Uber driver to find you.
Massive! Not enough time to get round all the duty free shops even with 3 hours before departure! Although I would say grab a sandwich instead of eating from a restaurant as they're very expensive.
The BA lounges are great, if you are privileged.
Rail/bus to Reading - the coach to reading leaves from stop 9 from right in front of terminal 5: not well signposted, but very convenient
It can get very crowded on the train to terminal C
The best terminal in LHR. Everything you need you'll find.
Always use the lifts rather than the escalator - they're much quicker even if you have to wait.
Don't forget to signup with Heathrow rewards to get extra internet hours
If you flew international First or Business Class on BA - save your boarding pass and get a free 15 minute neck and shoulder massage at Elemenis Spa at the South Lounge.

The newest terminal in London Heathrow.
A lot of entertainment while waiting for the flight.
Very well organized. 2 BA lounges are located on the right side and left side after X ray scan. The one on the left is closer to boarding gates
If your flight departs from a satellite terminal (5B or 5C), make sure you leave enough time to get to your gate - the shuttle can take a while to arrive.
It's actually scattered across three buildings, so you might have to take a shuttle to your final gate. Mostly quiet but people tend to get in the way.

Posh Terminal. If you're not hanging out at the BA Lounge, you might want to eat before you get here, not a ton of options but certainly something for everyone.
