If you walk all the way to the end, past virgin America towards terminal C and parking, there is a little alcove that you can see planes land/leave with rocking chairs and a power outlet. Very nice.

If you're flying in at night, have your ride pick you up at departures. Arrivals gets busy, and the cops will make your ride circle. Departures is dead at night and an escalator away!

If you are flying Virgin America make sure to watch the short film "Table for One". It's in the Napa Valley Film Festival section under "Best of the Web" and it's free!

Sometimes the TSA has to win so you just quietly bend over to grasp onto you ankles and take it like the rest of America. There are worse infringements occurring on our rights. Don't try to be a hero.

There is almost never a security line for Air Canada, which has a dedicated gate all its own. Warning, though: no restaurants or services once you're inside.

There's a Dunks and a Starbucks just past the food court by the AA 30s gates that serve Chicago, Dallas and Paris. Both expensive, but they have the normal selections.

If flying Air Canada do yourself a favor & get your eats pre security. The only food at the gate area is a significantly sub par Cosi station.

Ew. All they've got at gate 38 is a Cosi. Good thing flying Virgin is worth the limited options. Spring for the first class upgrade on the 7a flight to LAX if you can spare a few.
