Interesting exhibits into the terror caused by fascist and stalinist regimes. The building is the former secret police HQ where a lot of the interrogation and torture took place.

Nice museum, but is was impossible to read and watch everything. In the end you go into the cells and guaranteed you walk out feeling strange. Must do in Budapest to learn the brutal side of communism

The Rick Steves Budapest book does a good job describing each of the rooms. You can skip the audio guide if you have the book.

They did a great job seting up the museum in order to tell the history mainly of the soviet ocupation (and hungarian nazi party). we were not expecting much but ended up spending almost 2h there...

Better than expected, very emotional even for me who has no real connection to Hungary and the opression imposed upon them. They need to improve English signs though.

A place with potential, but badly organized. Not one exibit carries a description tag, if there is, it's in Hungarian. The only info come from loose sheets, impossibly long. Disappointing & irritating

Great way to glimpse Hungary's history w/ authoritarian regimes. Cold basement w/ prisons gives a realistic sense of what went on here. Audio tour is good; ongoing music & visuals overwhelm at times.

The information leaflet in the very first room is very biased (trying to absolve Hungary's participation in WWII). The top floors aren't that well planned/confusing, the basement is very confronting.

Brings to life the Nazi and Soviet influence in Hungary during the 1940s and 1950s. None of the exhibits have English captions, though, so the museum is difficult to follow at times.

Informative but very depressing museum. You enter to dungeons from a very slow and airless elevator which is according to me done by purpose.
