The Blanton Museum of Art is the largest university art museum in the country and has the most comprehensive collection of art in Central Texas.
Has a good permanent collection of contemporary and 16-17th century art.Nice building too.Temporary exhibit was nothing exceptional.Students get discount and kids under 12 don't pay.
Students of UT get in free, other students $5 with ID, $15 for regular admission, teachers also get a discount. Definitely check out the free days, too.
Came here for the Civil Rights exhibit. Really enjoyed this museum!

Exhibits come and go at this top-flight art museum, but what never changes is the epic installation “Stacked Waters,” which gives the Blanton's atrium the feeling of a two-story-high pool of water.

I love art museums but this one just didn't really impress; I feel like both Houston and San Antonio are better choices for depth and featured collections.

Wonderful Renaissance art collection! You are not allowed to take pictures of most of the special exhibits, but most of the permanent art you allowed to photograph. But make sure not to use flash!

Yoga in the Galleries is every Third Thursday at 6:30PM. Space is limited, so arrive about 20 minutes early to reserve your spot! The openness of the gallery is amazing and worth the early arrival.

Saw the Matisse exhibit here in July. I love this place! Beautiful blue tile walls and third Thursday evenings are very fun.
