Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. If they gentrified the old brick section of heaven, this place would be the neighborhood bar. Get a Brooklyn Lager and enjoy.
Great martinis and really nice place for an early evening or Saturday afternoon drink. Pretty space, high ceilings, nice light in the afternoon, great music
Bring a date here. They'll think you're cool for knowing the best bar in the neighborhood isn't on Smith or Court streets. Have a beer at the bar.
oldest bar in brooklyn, i believe. used to be a teahouse during prohibition and you would press a button if you wanted booze in your tea.
Quaint place to hang for a beer if you don't want to go to crowded Smith St. Bartenders are always nice and the atmosphere is great.
A nice, unassuming bar with a great ambience. It was so chill, people didn't even make a big deal when Dan Cortese walked in.
Great bar. Perfect beers on tap. Historically good seating karma. Hot bros in interesting shirts. Wyatt Cenac sightings. Have fun.
Closed for "renovations?" The most beautiful bar in Brooklyn with just the right aged patina doesn't need any reservations at all. What's going on?
Cozy and sexy vibe with locals and newbies. Great place to grab a drink and get close in a corner.
I recommend this old-fashioned yet spiffy bar. Plenty of space for larger gatherings in the back rooms, and great juke.
Nice old school feel with strong, cheap drinks. It's dark and there's pool, if you're into that kind of stuff.
Cool, dark, bar with some history. Bartenders are some of the nicest in the city, that I've come across.
Bartender Jason has been around the block, and is probably one of the best in New York. Watch for him as "cop" on Law & Order.
Back by popular demand after closing, The Brooklyn Inn has a sleek vintage decor and was mentioned in The Village Voice's top ten jukebox bars!
Know the history of the bar? Ask the bartender while you order up a pint. A little knowledge with your adult beverage.
Place blows up on weekend but it's a good date place. Jonathan Ames and John Hodgeman supposedly come here a lot but I've never seen them.
Don't know much about up front but in back they've got a good pool table and a great juke box
i have no real useful tip other than go now and go often. lovely atmosphere, lovely guinness, lovely new favorite.
Just moved here from Australia. They do NOT have bars like this back home. So much wood, so many candles, so much class. So good for a local bar.
My girlfriend lost a light grey long cardigan here. Two years ago. If anyone has seen it, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Social media at its best!!!
Feels like a classy dive and perfect on a chilly day. Cozy interior and a pool table in back.
I try to find a seat in the back, or play pool. I don't find the bar stools comfortable.
Local place full of weirdos, writers, nerds, and hotties of all genders and persuasions. Sometimes funny stuff happens here.
Pool isn't free, $1.50 a game. Cash only at this bar... there is an ATM though.
Great local off the beaten track and one of the oldest. Great jukebox - explore!
Come here on weeknights and avoid the crowds. Sunday night after 9 is soo chill.
Very attentive bartender. He will know you want another round the second you realize it.
If comfortable neighborhood bars are your thing, this could be your new favorite place.
Laid back, old school Brooklyn bar. Dark but not seedy. A little romance and little badass. Free pool
Dark, good beers, good jukebox, not too crowded on a warm Friday night. A+
It's Tom that we should all be writing about. He's the boss. Forget all of those bullshit bars w suspenders and handlebars .. This guy is for reals.
Looks tiny at first, but this bar is really spacious! It's pretty easy to get a table on a weekend night.
My local. Great jukebox, pool table, oldest bar in Brooklyn, all around awesome.
An old-fashioned neighborhood bar. Gruff regulars balance out the yuppie newcomers.
High ceilings, lots of wood, dark nooks, and big windows. Great space.
It's a cool, dimly-lit place with big windows. Makes for fun people watching.
Great prices and good selection. Grab a Red Breast and play some pool.
Bars are supposed to be dark. This place nails it with the street lights brightening the place more than the indoor flourescents. POW!
Cash only but all the other features of this dive makes up for that.
Cozy neighborhood bar with one mean Bloody Mary. You might even bump into Jason Schwatzman. Boom!
Love this bar so much, it's the perfect Friday evening wind from the week type of a bar..
Awesome spot, great bar. Bartender could do with cheering up though!!
Favorite bar in the city. Good for dates, group gatherings, everything.
Cool, chill, classic. Tucked away from Smith St. Love it.
Feels like a hidden secret. My whiskey and ginger was on the strong side, not that I'm complaining...
Cash only, bring quarters for the pool table in the back room.
Pool table in the back - $1.25 per game in quarters.
Fair thee be warned...CASH only. I did dishes for an hour ;)
