You get in and you know it's a touristic restaurant with average food.
Our server, the food and atmosphere were "Over the Top"
Everything was amazing and the service was top notch. Loved checking out all of the artifacts and taxidermy, too.
Rocky Mountain Oysters and Rattlesnake were great!
Denver's oldest restaurant.
The steak for 2 is good!
Family owned and operated for close to three decades. The porterhouse rivals any in the West.
Kay said Bison Tenderloin med rare and she was right!!
Very cool place to have dinner. Good is good and there's lots to look at
The bison prime rib is worth every penny. Try it with the mushrooms.
Amazing location, atmosphere and food. Had a great bison steak, will definitely return
The best steaks ever! Plus very friendly service! Love it!
Buffalo Bill Cocktail
Received the first liquor license in Colorado!
If you have a chance stop by and enjoy.
Excellent food. Has both game and regular beef depending on what your looking for. Lot of history here and definitely worth a stop.
Buffalo prime rib and the Colorado lamb. The other meats can be hit or miss (tough or gamey)
Great happy hour and the wildest food
A must-visit in #Denver! The Old West lives on here! It's Denver's oldest restaurant!
Very nice people. Martin is a great bartender at the upstairs bar.
Go for the combo. Elk, Buffalo and Quail, then thank me.
Colorado lamb is SO juicy!
Love the buffalo prime rib!
The Buffalo tenderloin! Staff recommendation and its fantastic.
Great buffalo prime rib with au jus - very lean and full-flavored!
Can't go wrong with the rattle snake app and quail entree!
I came here after watching Bizarre Foods! Great place! Get the bison it's really good!
Best.... steak..... ever
Liquor license # 1 in CO
The original white oak bar and backbar are upstairs in the Victorian lounge. Check it out and order a Buffalo Bill Cocktail while you're at it.
The Elk was fabulous!
Since you're here and this place was the 1st. one to be allowed to sell alcohol after the prohibition, order an Odell 90 Shilling, locally brewed in Colorado!
1st liquor license in Denver!
Home of CO liquor license #1
This place is not for vegetarians. A dream come true for carnivores. Holy yum.
Our table got both the brownie and the apple pie. Though the pie was good, it wasn't great. The brownie, on the other hand, made me want more. Complementing the rest of the, grand, meal of game.
Honestly? There's nothing for vegeterians in the menu... Horrible trophies on the walls. If you are an animal lover please don't come here
Peppered ostrich was really good!
Animals were harmed in the making of this restaurant.
Home of CO liquor license #1 there are three things you have to try...The Buffalo Bill Cocktail, Rattlesnake, and Mountain Oysters!!!!
Executive lunch with pot roast sandwich (on pumpernickel) and bean soup. Narcotically salty & delicious.
Last time I was here the bartender made me a couple of different martini's, tonight the bartender said, "We only make cosmos here". Get a different job if you don't want to be a bartender! Thanks!
Oldest bar in denver gives the slowest service. Great food but you'll be waiting for hours.
the number on the liquor license is 1
The Buckhorn Exchange was issued Colorado’s Liquor License No. 1, when the prohibition laws were repealed in 1933.
The "Dutch Lunch" is an awesome meal for the price. You get a little bit of everything and it is all great.
