Left side is all open seating otherwise a table will take forever to wait on...they brew right on site and the church is still Roman Catholic beautiful...a must for true beer lovers!
PIZZA!! Amazing don't you dare miss it! The atmosphere was great! I really enjoyed it. The waitresses are very friendly.. Service was fast.. Restaurant was clean price was totally fare
Homemade pierogies are bleeding fantastic!! Gotta get the special of the day! Do the samplers as well!! Only $13 for eight, 5 oz pours! Can't beat that and the stouts are to DIE FOR!!
A must-see destination if you're ever in Pittsburgh. Just have to see it to believe it. Great food, great beers, great atmosphere........words can't describe. Just have to see it for yourself!!
Be sure to stop by this re-purposed church for a delicious craft brew. The copper brewing tanks work their "miracles" on the altar you sit at the bar or in the pews and admire the stained glass.
Try a beer flight. The pious monk is one of the top beers I've ever drank. Pirogues are ok. Chicken pizza is really good. Cool setting.
Be mindful that there are two menus available in the dining room, one if you sit on the left, the other if you sit on the right...and they have rather different selections!
Ask for the "pub" menu if they don't give you one. It has a lot of great options and is much cheaper than the regular menu. The pizzas and salads are really good.
Def get the wild boar pizza. Awesome bow sauce and sweet corn on it. Beer is decent, but lacked developed flavored that is expected from high quality craft beers
The pizza combinations are new and exciting. The Pittsburgh Pierogie, Wild Boar BBQ, and Portobello Pesto are all very good. Good beer selection as well!
Awesome experience! The drink prices are very reasonable, and the food isn't bad either. Just go for the atmosphere if your not a huge beer drinker!
Tey the flight. Lots of choices for any beer fan of all walks of life, but the coconut stout is by far the best
What an interesting brew pub. The food was amazing and the beer great. You have to go here, you won't find this kind of atmosphere anywhere else.
Second time here and was not disappointed, definitely a must see. The feta, spinach, gouda dip was amazing! Ask for the bar menu for pizza options.
We tried the untraditional pierogies, risotto balls and pierogies entree. Everything was amazing, but you HAVE to try the risotto balls. The atmosphere is
Everything is good! Get beer tasters, their house italian dressing, and DEFINITELY HANDS DOWN the bread pudding!!! Decent price for superb quality!
Excellent! Try the spinach & smoked Gouda dip then the pierogi sauté with chicken. I'm sure you beer drinkers would enjoy the house brews, too!
If you have young kids, don't expect crayons at the table. Caters to adults, but does provide kid-friendly food and drink!
Food here is hit and miss depending on the day, but worth going just for the atmosphere. Sit on the bar side for less-expensive menu options.
Service was slow and inattentive and the food took a long time (would have been less noticeable if we had drinks) and was cold upon arrival. Not the best experience.
The food was wonderful! Their mushroom soup was nearly a religious experience (yeah, I went there...) and the service was top notch.
The sampler is eight 5-ounce drafts, so prepare yourself mentally and physically before ordering it (and then definitely do because it's awesome).
Just announced at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival Brewpub of The Year Bronze Medal - Celestial Gold Bronze Medal - Pipe Organ Pale Ale Silver Medal - Pious Monk Dunkel Gold Medal - Heini's Hooch
Good service, nice renovation. Pizza was really good. The black peppered pasta was delicious but the portion was very small and it was pricy.
The "Cinco Frommagio" (5-cheese) is the only noteworthy pizza here... but it might very well be the single best pizza in Pittsburgh.
The pizzas are on the pub menu but amazing, especially the southwestern if you can do spicy. Also get the beer tasting menu
Highly overrated, the beer is mediocre at best and the food is average. Dealing with the management for a big group is a nightmare. Pretty much a gimmick.
Quality Pittsburg brew, quality Pittsburgh fun. The best tip I can give is to check it out at least once. It's a must see.
Great beers, friendly staff, beautiful space. Literally nothing bad to say about this place.
Witches Kiss is awesome bitter beer. Lance at yhd bar us awesome. Every pizza rocks.... Can't go wrong here with pizza !
The menu features good stuff besides the pizza which is cooked in a wood fired oven. Try the Buffalo Steak.
Potato pancakes are an excellent appetizer as well as the non-traditional pierogies w/ sauerkraut & bratwurst.
Try the untraditional perogies. When I went, they were roasted peppers with a tomato sauce on top. Delicious!
There are only 4 pierogi in an appetizer serving. Better order two...at least!
Great beer list. Definitely make your own taster. Additionally all their desserts are great!!
The church itself is really pretty and a great concept. If only they spent more time making the beer taste good.
Excellent brew and foods. The cask conditioned stout is amazing and the perogies are great!
Good food, good beer, ample off-street parking out back. Try the pizzas and pierogies.
The Gouda spinach dip is phenomenal, and the bread pudding is delicious and more than enough for two.
The dining room & pub have different menus after 4pm so be sure to ask for both!!
Well worth the trek. Beer sampler is an awesome deal w 8 5oz pours for $13. Sign up for the mailing list for a free pint glass.
Extensive menu for all tastes. Get all the micro brewed beers made there!
Great location, wide selection of beers and great food! I really enjoyed their IPA
When a restaurant makes its pierogies daily and fresh, it's not hard to know what to do.
Housed in an old Irish church, the brewing equipment is located where the Altar should be
Thunderhop IPA is a hophead's dream come true. And the wild boar pizza is outstanding!
Really. Best church I've been to. I wish I lived here I would start going back to church again.
