Not sure what the hype is all about with the fish n chips. They're only okay. But the cask ales? Phenomenal.

Duck pasta dish was wonderful. The portions are smallish but perfect considering they are heavy but very tasty. Also had the rabbit pie, which was very heavy, but delicious!

There are two or three rotating cask ales reliably on offer, and half a dozen taps pouring a similar mix of colder suds. Kudos to Starr for offering half-pints as well as $8-to-$9 Imperials. Read more
