The Edison is a world class lounge that retains architectural and mechanical artifacts; an homage to its history as the first private power plant in Downtown Los Angeles. Created by Andrew Meieran and Marc Smith.
Very cool, 18th century boiler room that serves absynthe. -Akiko Cook, Launch My Line
Beautiful and romantic. A great building. Must go on Wednesday night for Lucant Dossier. A great feel throughout the place. Peeps swinging "Cirque du Soleil" style. -Julie Kwon, Launch My Line
The most amazing steampunk venue. Brilliant shows by Lucent Dossier on Wednesday nights. -Tressa Williams, Launch My Line

Take a step back into a great period of American history, order an absinthe fairy, and get lost in the theme of the place.

No worries, this power company’s a lot better than the one bugging you for the bill at the end of the month. Plunk yourself on an old leather couch and treat yourself to an Edison Light Beer. Get it?

Guys, wear nice shoes! My friend could not get in because he wore Converse.
Have yet to have a good experience here. It's run by douchebags for douchebags. If you're not a douchebag, I'd suggest you find somewhere else to hang.
35c cocktail Wed, Thu 5-7pm. $1 cocktail Fri 5-7
Absinthe + pineapple juice + a green fairy serving = MAGIC.
Heard this place was cool! Want to see for myself!! : )
I hate this place. Fuckin' pretentious! Even on weekdays. Please don't support pretentious fucks.
Spend $30+ on cocktails and not even get buzzed. WEAK DRINKS!
Ridiculous. I have a dress on and they wouldn't let me in with Uggs on. My friend has jeans and ugly tennis shoes on. Really?! Horrible.
Beautiful redesigned former power plant turned bar combining Art Nouveau and Industrial Gothic architectural styles. Go on a Wednesday so you can catch Lucent Dossier performing.
My favorite spot in DTLA, good vibe. Definitely enjoy the Friday crowd better than the Saturday crowd. Food is definitely worth trying.
Gotta look good to sell good.
This place us upscale and their dress code is strict. Men, wear black shoes or be prepared to walk home in the shoes you came in.
Globo Rojo #2 fantastic mezcal cocktail
pretty cool place, thou strict dress code (esp the shoes)
Fucking time warp!
Boys, leave your sneakers and casual shoes at home! Unless you want to be stuck outside for the night!
It is my most favorite bar, when it comes for cocktail and ambience the first name on my mind, is the Edison only...I'm sure next time I am throwing a huge classy party there, it’s a worth place!
I like the Edison, very fun and dancing night :)
Must try the after hours cocktail! Incredible subtle apple flavored with a hint of cinnamon.
it used to be a power plant. the interior is pretty neat. get some friends together for a few drinks!
I unlocked the Douchbag badge with my check in..:)
Yes, drinks are good and the decor is nice, but there are so many assholes it's just not worth it. Sean was right.
One of my favorite bars in LA. If you like Boardwalk Empire you must visit this bootlegger type bar underground at LA's first power plant built in 1910, make sure to get an absinth from the fairy!
