Good beer but the bar itself is a bit grubby and service is slow

Great location for a pub just wish I didn't have to from the mainline trains to get to it.

There's a nice seating area upstairs. The whole place smells of urine.... But after a few superb craft ales you won't notice.

Beer selection on one side of the road, ciders on the other, both do a few wines too. Pop up the spiral staircase if it's really busy, often there are tables unnoticed by the masses. And toilets FYI.

Good taps. Service is spotty, though. One blond female server literally looked at me and decided to empty the dishwasher rather than talk to/provide a drink to me.

One-time beer Mecca of London, when this and Rake were sole outposts. Despite the welcome proliferation of craft beer it's still worth the journey to enjoy the global selection in this iconic venue.
