The Farmhouse showcases local farms and food producers by featuring award-winning local burgers, comfort entrees, artisan cheeses & vegetarian options.
Skip the wait and head to the parlor (winter) or beer garden (spring, summer, fall) for a brew and a snack. I'd recommend anything Hill Farmstead or Lawson's Finest, but you really can't go wrong.
Excellent beer choices! For food try the Griddled Nitty Gritty Corn Bread and Vermont Cheddar Ale w/ garlic croutons to start with and split the local Farm Beef Burger with someone special!
Ok so here's what you do-look at the board above the bar and pick something to drink, you will likely enjoy anything. Do it again. Next up grass fed burger, bacon, and VT cheese, sub bun-kale for GF!
Order a whole pint of your favorite beer, or try a half-pint of something new. In the summertime, patrons can sit at the picnic tables or on couches that line the outdoor patio. - © 2013 BuzzFeed, Inc
Some of the best food, beer and service north of New York City. It feels good to support local food artisans, and to know that what you're eating is fresh, local and free of preservatives.
Worth the wait. Blue cheese and honey toast, turkey or bee burgers (with the garlic aoli) mussels, and the Pumpkin cupcake with maple buttercream frosting & salted caramel. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!!!!
Any of the burgers...I had the black bean over kale and it was absolutely amazing , easily best meal I've had in quite some time. HIGHLY recommended.
Eating locally is taken real seriously here. Three chalkboards will tell you exactly which nearby farms supplied your food. Brunch is a little pricey, but hot damn is it worth it.
This is a concept place. Want to play an active role in supporting the development of the local food chain? Get out your wallet and don't look at the prices. Price conscious? Probably not for you!
Trendy hipster gastropub. Good for overspending and smelling other people's breath while they talk about beer like it is high art. Pretentious doesn't begin to cover it. Fun place!
After an hour wait for a table, food took an hour to arrive at table. Good ingredients, mediocre execution. Had the bone marrow which had no marrow. Good cheeseboard. Meh meatloaf. Now worth 2 hrs.
Sit outside if the weather's nice. The food's good across the board, and the beer selection is extensive and you can get half pints of the ones on tap to sample lots.
Had the simple beef burger, super tasty with pickled jalapeños. Definitely go with the half pours if you want to get a good sampling of the beer menu, better value.
Local everything! The way restaurants should be. Try the cheese plate appetizer, the 20hr Beef shoulder, and the Vermont-made vodka martini!!!
If you go early you'll have a more relaxed dinner as the tables are pretty close together. Turkey burger with aoili was tasty. A little on the expensive side.
Was a little disappointed last time I was here. Food was mediocre at best. Based on the hype and recommendations from friends, I can only assume they had an off night. Will try again.
Uhhhhmazing beer selection and Mac-and-cheese... Yet expect a wait... A long one at that if you get there at peak times! It's worth it
I love the fact that the restaurant uses local farms to supply the meat and vegetables. Also, their craft beer is exceptionally awesome.
Service and burgers were good. I sampled five different beers on tap. Definitely my fave was the hill farmstead madness and solitude!
The basement is a hidden treasure. I love the beer garden in the warm months. You order your drinks at an old drive thru window. So great
AWESOME beer selection always changing. Burgers are top notch, try to sit outside if you can. Also, fried veggies are great starter.
Everyone talks about the Hill Farmstead Edward, but the Susan is better. If you're really lucky, they'll have the Abner, the best it gets.
This place is great. Best staff in town. I hear people complain about the prices, but I am happy to pay a few extra bucks knowing that it's going back to local farmers and supporting our community!
Great beer selection. The garden and parlor are genius. Excellent burgers. The menu has something for everyone. Highly recommend.
Have the burgers - and make sure to get a draft beef. They also don't accept international I.D.s so bring your passport
Changing table in ladies room. They also have short straws and cups with lids for the kids. Perfect!
I love the oysters here but the prepared sauce is usually too overpowering. If you're a purist be sure to ask for some lemon.
Arguably the best craft beer spot in town. Amazing, amazing tap list with some decent bottles to boot as well.
I had the most amazing salad with the freshest ingredients. I normally don't like beets but they made them delicious!
The simple dressed greens served as a side here (instead of fries) are just about as close to perfect as one can get. Nice.
I feel like it's not good enough to justify the prices, even given that it's local. Try skinny pancake for a similar concept but better food.
Outstanding staff. Answered all of my questions and made great recommendations. Really helped make for a memorable experience.
Ridiculously overpriced and up it's own ass. Crap service and the vegetarian options suck. Who wants to eat and pay more than 2 bucks fir cornmeal fritters?
The meatloaf was spectacular. One of the best dinners I've had in a while. Blown away even. Mmm mmm
There's a relatively unknown patio out back, great place to have drinks when you don't want to see anyone you know ;)
Check out downstairs while you wait for a table or shoot a game of darts while having a beer with a fire close by. It's a great new addition.
Back beer garden is perfect in late September. Jazz is good but too loud for our six top to all hear each other
The food is different, delish great for someone looking to expand their pallet. Beers are awesome too!
Have a beer or three in their stunning beer garden in the back of the restaurant. It's stunning.
Before you go inside the second door to the restaurant, you'll see a wooden door on the right. Follow it. Trust me.
Go now! Amazing. Perfectly cooked burger, house-made condiments (yes!), and half pours on craft beer. Service wins a gold star.
Charcuterie plate and meatloaf. Yumm. Excellent service. But no reservations....which is a problem.
Turkey burger prepared like the pork burger (egg). Half fries and half salad - game changer.
Very good good. Hill Farmstead and other local beer makes this a craft beer must visit.
Fish and chips are a solid choice if you don't want a burger. Amazing beer selection
The staff here is above and beyond. The food adds to it but the service and warmth are my favorites
The burgers are to die for!!! But everything I've had is awesome! Especially the KIMCHI!!
