You can order just one of the pancakes instead of getting three. They are large and extremely filling. The mounds of pleasure was delicious with the Nutella and toasted coconut all topped with cream.

Very attractive waiters. I recommend the whole wheat pancakes (just ask for 1) and the Gone Shrimpin for eggs. Cant go wrong with the french toast either. Delish fresh squeezed OJ too! Love this place

Never before have I enjoyed breakfast so much. Had the Nutella French Toast and it was amazing! It was very crowded inside but the atmosphere was excited and pleasant. Great service as well.

    Evan Thomas · June 4, 2015
  • Lana D.

All rhe gd things said about those pancakes are true! HUGE and delicious!! We had the blueberry pancakes and added strawberries on top. Also had muscle smg, eggs and spinach, good as well

Great place for breakfast but be warned this place is packed. Park behind the rite aid. The some like it hot scramble was great. The salty tortilla chips were great with the scramble.

Buy the EP I produced for my artist Nemo Achida. It's called Conversations With 88'. (iTunes). If you're worried about my credibility you can check the song I won a Grammy for "No Church In The Wild"

Everything is good here! You cannot go wrong. Long line but absolutely worth the wait. The portions are ginormous but delicious. Get the sunset omelette or the red velvet pancakes.

    Achille Kolla · July 11, 2015
  • Abdullah A.

The place is awesome, tried the cookie French toast and it is crunchy, just a heads up. If you come with your loved one, just order one plate only, all what they have are huge sizes, we couldn't finish

    Abdullah Alrajhi · January 6, 2015

Oh M G!! This place rocks! Everything we ate was awesome. It's a little bit small and it gets really packed so you have to be patient but this was worth the wait.

    Michelle Arnaiz-Dela Rosa · June 10, 2015
  • Lynette S.

Everything is great here. I'm a fan of the Charlie's Scramble, I believe it's called. The waiters are cute and hella cool. Sundays are two-for-one Mimosas! Oh, and two celebrity sightings there so far

Parking can be tricky and if you don't go early on the weekends, you are in for a long wait. It is very tight and cramped inside but the food is definitely worth it! Can't go wrong with pancakes!

BEST BREAKFAST PLACE EVER! Downside, long wait; but it's an indication of how good this place is. Come with a friend, share a savory and a sweet dish. Just close your eyes & pick, everything is good.

    CamelBack DownFeather · July 9, 2013
  • David C.

The pancakes are enormous - see photo with iPhone to get scale! Very tasty but far too much for a mere mortal :) Good tip is to eat from the middle so you get some of the filling before you're full.

    David Cobb · July 24, 2013

A popular power-breakfast spot, the French Press coffee is incredible along with their enormous omelets and scrumptious home fries. The blueberry pancakes are to die for as well the staff are so nice!

    Bob Loblaw · January 4, 2012

One plate of pancakes feeds 3. Try "tis the season." Best pumpkin pancakes on the face of the planet. So worth the looking wait to get seated. French press is great too.

    Rebecca Rowland · October 13, 2012

If you want their pancakes but can’t bear the LONG waits (esp on weekends), 3 options: 1) go at off-hours; 2) try their takeaway; or 3) head to The Coffee Bean across the street to tide you over. Read more · October 7, 2011

Park in the lot behind the Rite Aid. The Griddle has the best diner food in LA. Get there early or go during the week as the wait is pretty long on the weekend. Definitely try the pesto shrimp sand

    Kristen Lauren · June 28, 2010

If you get pancakes here be sure you're really hungry. The pancakes taste amazing but they are giant. I've had the scotch on the rocks pancakes and their steak tacos are amazing too!

    Jelisa Beaty · November 16, 2015

Size portions are HUGE; share it with a friend. Banana pancake felt just like mushed bananas in the batter. It could use some pecans or chocolate chips for texture and flavor. Bacon was good.

Show up early, preferably with a small party. I strongly recommend the Eggs y Papas Benedict, and Addicted to Noisella French Toast. Do not order a full stack of pancakes, a single pancake will do.

    Matthieu Roussotte · July 7, 2010
  • Philip T.

Wait is never that bad when you have only two people, but expect loud noises and cramped spaces. If you go with four, you can get a booth and it's a little better, but expect to wait 30-50 minutes

    Philip Tam · January 19

You will love this crowded breakfast spot next to the Directors Guild Building. Just don't complain when your expectations are exceeded - just tip your waiter well (he/she will prove to be worthy).

    Wayne · November 6, 2015
  • efrain

skip the Noisella french toast and get the original "Mama's French Toast" - unless u want super-sweet "bread, nutella, and melted whipped cream". It's enough for two people (at least) and all the haze

    efrain · March 22, 2010
  • Rong N.

Park behind Rite-aid to avoid parking tix in neighborhood. 2 people=35 min wait. Blindest pancake was yummy and huge. French toast amazing too! It's huge portions so share! Loud and lots of guy waiter

Great Sunday brunch experience! I love their French Toast and lively atmosphere! It's best to visit after 2pm when the wait isn't very long. Must come back to try their pancakes!

The Griddle is the bizzomb!!! Love their ginormous pancakes... delish! Servers are all really chill. A little pricey, and parking is so so, but overall experience at The Griddle is great!!!

Redvelvet was worth trying,,, too sweet though.. I would personally recommend mama's french toast 👍🏻 but do not have it after tasting the red velvet

THE place to go for breakfast in LA. They have so many awesome pancake combinations...stuff that I would not even imagine doing w/ pancakes. Red Velvet and Black Magic are awesome!!

Loved it! Went at 3p on a Saturday & there was no line AND we got front door parking! Mom's French Toast for me (incredible!) & Sunset People for the hubby (really incredible!) I'd totally go back.

Jason has great service and is very helpful with clarifying any questions on the menu and even helps you make up your mind if you are stuck between 2 choices. Awesome server :)

The person who gave the tip saying you can actually order one pancake wasn't kidding and is a genius! I'd be amazed if anyone could polish off two, let alone three. Soooo delicious though!

You have to exercise for a week to burn off the scrumptious peanut butter bubba French toast, I'd ask for less powdered sugar and cream.

Phenomenal! Just Phenomenal! Go hungry! My graham cracker crusted cheesecake french toast was huge and a plate of Heaven! If I'm in Cali ever again I'll be going back!!!!!

The Peanut Buttah French Toast is to die for - an order is good enough for two! PS: You can order single pancakes if you'd like! Will definitely come back before I leave.

Arrive EARLY! It's 8:30 and this place is packed. People line up for miles... Come hungry - 3 of us are sharing one stack of pancakes! Gargantuan! Delicious. Enjoy!!

The captn crunch peanut butter french toast was totally worth the wait. I went with a group of eight and it turned into a family style breakfast. The portions will not disappoint.

Order the red velvet pancake - with a side of extra friends, please. That thing is huge! We recommend visiting on a weekday, unless you don't mind waiting for your food.

The BLUESberry pancake and strawberry waffle are simply DEVINE! BUT make sure you make reservations and wait very close to the host. He'll be more inclined to seat you quicker.

    Tu Nguyen · August 9, 2010
  • James G.

The earlier you get here, the better. Pretty good coffee and HUGE servings. A little over priced, to be honest, especially with service that slow. Be careful about where you park!

    James Gubera · February 17, 2013
  • Rebecca B.

An order of pancakes comes with 3. You can deduct $1 for each pancake you subtract from that. And quite frankly - 1 is MORE than enough. You probably won't even finish it.

    Rebecca Bass · October 9, 2011

pancakes the size of your face! message them on twitter a day in advance if you want to bring out-of-towners...they'll try to seat you right away which is really sweet.

The oreo pancakes are good but not as good as the Nutella french toast... though i would recommend you to share them 'cause they're huge!

    Deema · September 4, 2014

Get their "Black Magic" oreo pancake or creme de la creme french toast! Make sure to order just ONE layer. Portions are ridiculously huge!!!

    Christina Chen · May 26, 2013

Try their hot scramble and if you want a healthy option go for the "muscle bound scramble".. pancakes and french toast to die for but ask for a half portion

    Alia Alawi · December 3, 2014

Save yourself the money and the feeling of defeat. Only get one! The Teacher's Pet was a baked apple pie and it was delicious. Still could only finish half of it.

The french toast is a MUST together with the pancake, but the red velvet pancake its too much sweet and i hated. The service is very fast, i liked it :)

    Edel · November 7, 2015

Whole wheat pancake with brown sugar. Get it. No human can eat the stack of 3; 1 is typically sufficient. The french press coffee will make your head-a-splode.

    Juston Payne · January 8, 2012

No reservations, make sure to get there early and wait in the longest line ever on the weekends. OH and the pancakes are huge, beware. Maybe only order one 😛

It's all about ordering the correct items. Mom's french toast was a hit; it didn't even need syrup. However, the cobb omelet was dry and bland. The eggs benedict failed at representing what makes it s
