One of the best meals I had in SF. We ordered french toasts and the toast with avocado and two pouchet. Both comes with two portions, perfect for sharing. Best idea ever.
Stopped by after dinner for some chamomile tea. Cozy spot, several tea, coffee and dessert options. Would be a great place to relax with a book. Love the decor.
Closest thing I've found to a real pub atmosphere in SF. That is, you can go there and get a beer and take your time about it. With friends or on your own reading. Food is good but a touch pricey?
One of my favorite lunch spots. Brunch served all day every day. Enough Said! But my menu favorites are actually the Berkeley bowl and turkey BLT with the spicy harissa mayo on the side! YUM.
I have dreams about the lavender and watermelon lemonades here. The watermelon is only available during the summer months. Get it with the breakfast burrito. Everything else on the menu is subpar.
A cozy little spot to bring your book or laptop & snuggle up with some coffee & a sandwich. Rustic in feel, the fireplace & pillows make this a very easy place to get lost for an afternoon. - Jill
Grilled cheese and tomato soup is exactly what you would hope from that combo. Apple chicken salad is great too. All the staff are nice and helpful - very attentive.
A cozy, neighborhood cafe atmosphere that is reminiscent of the shuttered Chestnut St. location. Uniquely different from her sister cafes in SoMa & Hayes Valley.
This and La Boulange (across the street) are the only spots along this stretch of Fillmore where you can get a weekday cafe lunch sans the Ladies Who Lunch crowd.
Huge glasses of fresh squeezed OJ from the zumex machine are a solid hangover cure. Makes a great combo with the Avocado and poached egg toast.
You've gotta be kidding me. This place does not deserve it's location!! Shittiest sitting down experience. Über small portions (Nutella crepe) for $7... Stale coffee. The worst brunch so far!
This location is wayyy better than the Chestnut Location. Get the tuna salad (salas with tuna on it). The giant chocolate chip cookies are also awesome.
$15 for breakfast burrito and a coffee. No wifi and no free refills on coffee. So in other words, "give us your money and get the f out". Used to love this place.
Breakfast burrito is still amazing but they don't have wifi anymore. Apparently they want people to talk to each other more. To avoid that, just tether!
Great food and excellent oversight. Two managers checked on us during our meal. Friendly busboy gave us a menu upon entering the restaurant.
This place is exceptional!!! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is really comfortable. Whenever I visit SF I'll always stop through. :-)
No other place in the city is as bad as managing their food inventory as the Grove. Want steak? Oops they're out of it. Want spinach dip? Oops they're out of it. Open 2+ years, Grove you suck.
In reply to the wifi comment, no more wifi (they have a sign up). Also, incredible hash browns. Best I've had the city.
One of my favorite places in San Francisco. Fast service. Reasonably priced and great tasting food. Good portions. Go here!
They have a great selection of sandwiches and salads, if you're here for breakfast, the oatmeal is good as well.
eat chili. Watch the Fillmore dog crowd on Sunday morning. Bring your laptop and sit in a leather lounge chair by yourself.
The cookies aren't very good but the real food is. Delicious lasagna and I hear the chicken pot pie is exceptional.
The Grove is simply amazing!! Incredible food (I think I've had everything on the menu!). And great vibe.
As of early 2013, the owners have opted to remove the wifi to keep the ambiance of "San Francisco's living room."
Cozy ambiance and yummy milky warm hot chocolate for those chilly SF nights! Also, tomato soup with grilled cheese = jackpot.
Try the Moroccan salad and add smoked salmon for a nice extra kick. Like most things, goes well with the chimay.
Beets and goat cheese salad, ham and fontina cheese sando and Chemay on tap sitting under the sun...what a combination!
Damn that breakfast burrito is good! You can live without one of the tempting (and expensive) lavender mimosas. Mehh.
Good if you're willing to shell out for a casual lunch, but don't think you're getting any work done on this shoddy, pay by the hour wifi.
My fave meet up spot for a cozy bite & beverage with a friend. Especially if you bring a deck of Uno cards.
Chai is amazing & in a big mug! Internet is "free" depending on how much you purchase. ex: spend $3.75 for chai = 30 minutes free internet.
Try the Eggs - Custom Scramble with feta, mushrooms, pepper, onions and chicken apple sausage
The cashiers don't know the menu, they will charge you extra for items that come with your dish. Watch that bill...
Try the Moroccan baked eggs and add chicken apple sausage.
Try the Made to order crock of French Onion Soup - Who knew u would need a fork to eat your soup!!!
don't go here for the "free internet" advertised on the outside. the "free internet" actually costs $5 for every 30 minutes.
Unfortunately the breakfast here is quite boring and overpriced, the music is irritatingly loud, and is overall unpleasant.
Awesome place. Great customer service. And the Apple Chicken salad isn't bad either. Two thumbs up!
don't ever have their carrot cake, its horrible. really great fresh squeezed OJ and strawberry rhubarb pie.
The turkey reuben is great and has a nice wasabi kick in the Dijon/Russian dressing.
My Cubano was more dry than I'd like, but my g/f's cheesesteak was good (and spicy).
Warning: Cups for coffee are very heavy... I underestimated them and ended up spilling half my cafe au lait on the floor.. (Sorry guys!)
The turkey club is great--the Canadian bacon and the sour dough make for a tasty sandwich.
WiFi needs a code that lasts only an hour. If you want to get on with work royal ground coffee up the road is a better choice.
Cookies are a MUST TRY!!! So soft and crumbly! Not to mention HUGE! XD
Super chill spot to grab a beer or glass of wine and relax.
It's all awesome but the burrito and big eye IPA are my favorite brunch.
The seats along the left wall when you walk in have a power strip hidden ABOVE the bench.
Pretentious as it sounds, the pear and gorgonzola sandwich is delicious here.
