This place is rockin'
The 1st concert hall in the country that catered exclusively to Black artists & audiences. See great examples of African-Americans' contributions to us all: http://bet.us/BHM
Eat before you go. Service is stupid dumb slow.
Great venue for music, not for food. Save your money and stick with drinks and appetizers. Entrees are overpriced and not worth the hype that the website portrays.
Get there early or u will be standing ...
D.C.’s historic music hall on Black Broadway has reopened as a super-club, booking major R&B, jazz, and pop acts. Bonus: chef Marcus Samuelsson oversees the restaurant.
Please get to the theater 3.5 hours before show - seating policy is a hot mess. You can't be seated until entire party is present.
Save a few dollars by visiting the theater box office if you can. Ticketmaster's extra fees add up.
Really nice venue. Food is pricy and plates are small. Coming early gets you a good seat toward the front but the seats are uncomfortable after time. Tables seat 8 but should be for 6.
Front door is off can see straight through to an amazing column. More to come
Chipotle salmon is the best!!!
City's first legitimate theater for African-American audiences and entertainers, showcasing musical, theatrical and comical talent. Built in 1910, built by architect Edward Storck.
11/4: interior completely gutted except for a few interior posts; flooring now dirt with a few rats romping through the interior last night.
Check out this sped up Howard Theater renovation video from last year; too bad the restoration work didn't keep going: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FElWn9rHeCc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Not the Service. . . And not the drinks... just the artists. Otherwise it's and over hyped venue that underwhelm you
PJ Morton was awesome!
Gotta be on the top level
Great shows...all the time! Glad their back
Beautiful venue with great shows. Do NOT eat here. Wildly overpriced mediocre food with slow service.
Get there early for front row seats. They do have a $10 minimum but the food more than covers that!
The food is expensive but the shows are usually good. Great for mature adults.
Get here on time. Shows start promptly.
Food & drinks are overpriced, but it's a very nice performing art venue: the new look is awesome!
DC Jazz Festival Special performances: Jazz at the Howard celebrates the tradition of jazz in D.C. Grammy winning vocalist Dianne Reeves, Italian guitarist Pino Daniele & Steve Kimock Band
Skip the valet parking for packed shows! Ive seen people wait in line 45 minutes. Hopefully this will change with time. Great management!
Great food, but pricey for the average college student. Either eat before or have at least 30/40 bucks set aside for food.
Valet Parking available on some events...
The Roots performing LIVE @ the Howard Theatre
General admission for every show, so go early to get a good table (great bars to help pass the time)

Love this place! Had so much fun seeing Black Alley and Melanie Fiona! The valet parking sucks, though. Other than that, great place! I'll surely some back, just won't park here. Take the Metro!

Dranks is expensive. $20 Valet to park my own car?
Really slow wait service. The place is packed for Tamia.
Taurus Rileys concert not bad
Took an hour for them to bring me a rum and coke. Also, $6.50 is not 15% of 23 dollars.
Bitches Who Brunch voted Howard Theatre's Gospel Choir Brunch as the worst buffet in 2012!
Get here 2 hours early to get a good seat
Cant wait til Slick Rick and Rakim show in February!!!
