“If you’re not a big pimpin’ oligarch and looking for more affordable accommodations, the recently restored Jane Hotel in the West Village might be more in your zone.” – Anthony Bourdain.
Go to Cafe Gitane for strong coffee and towers of couscous; slip into the ballroom for people-watching and dancing.
I can touch all 4 walls while standing in the middle of the room
Uhm, if you want to know what it's like to sleep on the Titanic, this is the place. Also, did you know that survivors of the Titanic disaster actually stayed in this building right after?
Excellent place to stay when in NYC. Recommend to anyone travelling on a budget. Cool motif & design. Awesome history too.
Take your key off the power thing and blast the AC, the rooms get stuffy in any weather
When you walk in head all the way to the right to get to the hidden cocktail bar. Grabs drink with a friend or two in the intimate setting. 60 person capacity space.
order brown sugar mojitos
Chic bohemian vibe, great music, and boys who don’t speak English — what more could you ask for? Go on a Thursday night for the scene or on a Monday night for a free movie screening! —Marina
The urinals are bigger than the rooms.
Cosy room, nice people. There's lovely cafe named gitane.
This was the first place where many of the survivors of the Titanic were brought.
Excellent place to go dance till 4am, the DJ is always top-notch and the crowd is always energetic
"Jane, get me off this crazy thing... called love"
Did you know that the survivors of the Titanic stayed here after its sinking in 1911?
Beautiful historic hotel with friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms. Cafe Gitane has an authentic French feel, but is overpriced. Absolutely love this place!
Saturday night's oldies and current music fusion DJ list will make you want to dance until your feet go numb!
Super packed. good DJ.
cool place, great vibe, wonderful staff...I will be back!
Chic bohemian vibe and great music. Go on a Thursday night for the scene or on a Monday night for a free movie screening!
14 for Hendricks and tonic 10 for bud. The choice is yours.
This place is a joke, the service is bad the bartenders are rude and it's overpriced, born and raised in NYC your better off going to Le Bain or Gavsavort for better view same crowd and better service
I'm pretty sure this is a place made for vapid people to feel interesting.
Take your room key off the ring & you can leave your power slug in the socket while away for easy charging of gear, etc.
If you check in for the first time at night, make sure you have a flashlight app on your phone. You'll need it to find the power to your cabin.
Now that you've made it past the door, grab a drink with some friends in the intimate, trendy ballroom
I love their line "when you have more dash then cash"
Absolutely phenomenal interiors hearkening to the Ottoman Empire and Northern Africa. Super, laid-back service. Glad I got in on my one night out on the town for the month!
Once the American Seaman's Institute, it later housed Titanic survivors during the inquisition. It is now a whimsical spot that harkens back to the days of passenger liners and seafaring voyages.
An out of control house party in your rich friend's mansion. Drunk preppy girls dance on tables and the popular crowd surveys it all from the balcony.
The Survivors of Tiatanic stayed in this hotel FYI
If you ever wanted to go to experience Hogwarts with a buzz, this is the place.
Breakfast @cafegitane drink@ballroom insidie this amazing hotel
Avocado toast. The meatballs and the warm chocolate cake. Perfect high tea.
Inexpensive hotel, makes feel you feel welcome as if you were at an expensive hotel. Green friendly on electricity, lovely staff :)
Nice place and really-fuckin-awesome bar with excellent interiors, good cocktails and great drunk people
Nice place to stay in NYC Manhattan.
Lose your credit card as a strategy for getting back in, forget it for three weeks, come back and get shut down by the bouncer. Fun!
This hotel redefined all future hotels. Their showers are nice and clean, although communal.
Good value in the heart of hipster town! If you want a quick fix breakfast, head down to Chelsea Market for some baked goodies and a cup of coffee.
Their bouncers are rude, mean and the place in general is racist. I will never go back to this place.
Did you know that John Cameron Mitchell originated his play HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH here (pre-renovation)?!
