Love the soups
After reading all the positive reviews on YellowPages, I was really excited to finally try The Mission. But service was mediocre and food was only ok for the price. I probably won't go back again.
Brunch is excellent
Get a carafe of sangria and the queso fundido with chorizo and you won't be disappointed. The entrees are just okay though. Beautiful place!
Was not impressed. Got our drink order after our food arrived. Server was very anxious and rushed us out before a large table was seated. No music, but well decorated
A gem in the Columbus circle area and a historic site. Food is great.
Went there for dinner, usually it's very good food & service. Last night our service was very slow, waited 30 mins for soup, salmon salad & clams. It wasn't busy either. Off night, maybe?
The fish tacos weren't bad, little over done, and the pato de blue was unique.
Now that I've tried the food, this is already one of my favorite restaurants here in Syracuse! Also loving the Breckenridge agave wheat ale. Yum!
Inside is gorgeous, and it smells heavenly. Can't wait to try the food.
Pro tip: add pico de gallo to the guac to spice things up.
Awesome place all around. Great atmosphere, food, and service.
Try their vegetable burrito for lunch.
The queso fundido esta muy bueno! Have them add crumbled chorizo for an extra kick!
The tortas are good (chicken and steak), but not authentic.
Worst service downtown, waited close to an hour for a quassadilla, it was okay, nothing special, don't go during a lunch break. The people next to us said they waited an hour for take out.
Fish tacos were great and so is the guacamole. Not a fan of the wine margaritas tho.
Amazing Queso Dip, best I've ever had and I LOVE Mexican food. X
Vegans can get zucchini/vegetable based fillings as well as tamales, frijoles and the salsas are vegan. One of the strangest atmospheres in downtown Syracuse.
Margaritas are not house made! They use a mix, and it is awful. Just get a beer or wine. No full fledged liquor license here. Beware.
Always ask for the soup. And if it's good ... when it's good—fill your mouth with it.
Make sure to hit up The Mission on Fridays when the special is a shrimp & scallop burrito.
Sunday brunch from 10-2. The menu is ridiculous.
Wine margarita is the must.
Chorizo sausage quesadila !
Highly recommend hearing the specials, there is usually something delightful
The staple - 3 chicken hard tacos, black beans, white rice, medium salsa. Never pass on the soup special - it's their specialty.
tequila key lime pie.. one slice is not enough
A hidden gem! Some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten!
Put everything on the menu in your mouth. Your tastebuds will be very thankful. You're welcome.
Stand a couple feet from the urinal. Youre in the splash zone
Ask for a punch card. Your 10th meal is free
The habanero papaya salsa. Do it.
Located in an old historic church, stained glass windows intact, The Mission features the best Mexican in the area, in a charming venue!
The vegetable burrito was bland and the service was worse. The decor is the best thing they have going on.
ask for the peppers and hot sauces condiments tray, they don't bring it right away, but it's great for people who like heat!
The guacamole is delicious!!
Overrated, not worth the wait, dipping sauces were awesome though.
The chicken anticucho with chimichurri, black beans, rice and orange slices is the best!
I want a Taco Salad from there ALL THE TIME!! YUMS!! (seasonal-closed in winter :(
Chicken Tacos! Great lunch spot
If I had just a little bit less self-respect, I'd order a large thing of their guacamole and just eat it with a spoon. That would be my dinner. AND IT WOULD BE HEAVEN.
Free chips on Mondays & Tuesdays
The usual - white wine margarita on the rocks, queso fundido, and the veggie burrito!
Margaritas are salty but good. The guacamole is delicious. But make sure you go early or late on a weekend night -- they don't take reservations and the wait is always long!
Get the salsa sampler to start and the flan to finish. So delicious!
get the passion fruit flan!
Ask for the hot sauces. The pickled serranos are worth a visit.
