Of all the bars lining gaudy Bourbon Street, this may be the only one a local would be caught dead in. Plus, drinks are never wasted, because the law allows you to take them with you wherever you go.

Take it from a local, this place is a rip off. Incredibly overpriced, terrible drinks, zero emphasis on absinthe. Its about as historical as winston churchills hemorrhoids

We love the Old Absinthe House’s Napoleon-topped water spigot.

  • Cody H.

Absinthe, where else but right here. Price's range from $16-$22 for an epic drink, if your into Absinthe. Or you can sample several adult beverages, plus it's the oldest bar on Bourbon street, sweet..

Afternoons here are great! Lots of people watching, open doors and windows to the corner and Dawn makes the best mint juleps on Bourbon Street.

Amazing dive bar on Bourbon St. Great knowledgable staff on Absinthe. Get yourself the topself $22 shot. Sip and slip away while listening to Frankie.

Wayyyy too expensive. Don't even think about giving them your card. Classic tourist trap. Shame, since the history is interesting.

A relaxed old bar that once served the likes of Mark Twain and Walt Whitman. Stop by at least once. Absinthe seems somewhat overpriced, but I enjoyed local beer on tap.

If you are not an absinthe connaisseur, try the New Orleans one. Mixed up with mint and Pastis, very good!

Had the top shelf absinthe, they made me welcome with the ritual of the sugar cube, water and all that. Tastes like strong licorice, a biker gang Mae in and ordered 6 shots... Awesome!

One of the more laidback spots on Bourbon street. Yes, there IS wormwood in the absinthe. No, you won't see a green fairy.

Got a traditional pour of nouvelle orleans absinthe. it's like a dark voodoo version of a football bar. As folks that aren't into much of bourbon st crowds, we liked this place.

Spending our last day at a shitty dive bar, beers are $6, there are some really drunk guys, everything is covered in filth, and it kinda smells like puke. New Orleans finest.
