People tend to check in during these times:
For almost 200 years the Old Absinthe House bar has been a staple of life in the Vieux Carré. Located on the corner of Rue Bourbon and Rue Bienville, the cooper-topped wooden bar captivates patrons as they sip their favorite beverages.
My favorite NOLA bar. Get a gin fizz and people watch.
What should you try here? Absinthe!
First Bar we went to on Bourbon Street. Had to try a Sazerac!
Absinthe is the name of the game along with whiskey. Good service and prices. Spicy popcorn is a great bar snack.
Bartenders are laid back, and very knowledgeable about the 'Green Faerie'. Nice 1st experience for me.
Got a traditional pour of nouvelle orleans absinthe. it's like a dark voodoo version of a football bar. As folks that aren't into much of bourbon st crowds, we liked this place.
Serving patrons for 200 years including many historical figures and celebrities, this is a gem on Bourbon Street. The Sazerac is incredible!
Spending our last day at a shitty dive bar, beers are $6, there are some really drunk guys, everything is covered in filth, and it kinda smells like puke. New Orleans finest.
Absinthe of course
shot roulette. try not to drink the gin
The cocktails are wonderful here. This is a nice change of pace on Bourbon.
Sit upstairs on the balcony. View is nice!
Anything with the Word Absinthe has to be Good!!! :)
Pedir algo rápido, cervezas o shots. Siempre esta muy lleno y es demorado el@servicio
Fuck. This place rules...
Really like the sazeracs here.
Bar top is uncomfortably high, but the tenders are very open and warm provided you tip like a grownup and not a college student.
Cozy by the fire place
A relaxed old bar that once served the likes of Mark Twain and Walt Whitman. Stop by at least once. Absinthe seems somewhat overpriced, but I enjoyed local beer on tap.
If you are not an absinthe connaisseur, try the New Orleans one. Mixed up with mint and Pastis, very good!
This place is awesome
Sazeracs as tasty as we remembered!
Cozy fireplace for cool nights. Otherwise the place is a divey sports bar.
There's nothing else like it! Wish they would've had some Mansithe, but I did try Absinthe Lucid. 👍
Absinthe was good. Bar was meh.
No Ramos Gin Fizz. Should not advertise you are famous for that and not have it. Overpriced well drinks.
Real Swiss Absinth available , tried the Louisiana one, Berry Good.
Best Blood Mary's EVER!!!
No one at the bar will wait on you.
Take it from a local, this place is a rip off. Incredibly overpriced, terrible drinks, zero emphasis on absinthe. Its about as historical as winston churchills hemorrhoids
Absinthe is Jaegermeister for Belle Époque douchebags. Having said that, the selection is fantastic and the service is nice.
Kind of boring. A shitty domestic bottle was 6 dollars. The vibe isn't even that interesting. Business cards and football make sense for a sports bar, not a place that specializes in absinthe.
Whiskey / Bourbon cocktails are a must
When in New Orleans....
The Bloody Marys are fantastic
$9 fireballs are impressive....
Had the top shelf absinthe, they made me welcome with the ritual of the sugar cube, water and all that. Tastes like strong licorice, a biker gang Mae in and ordered 6 shots... Awesome!
Nice pub, cigar friendly.
One of the only bars in the US who will do a real absinthe shot. Order one.
Outstanding Jukebox...yes jukebox
Get the Bloody Mary, green fairy or Ramos gin fizz
Even if absinthe isn't your bag, they make great cocktails that are still solidly in the "other" category.
They have the best bloody Mary's here.
One of the more laidback spots on Bourbon street. Yes, there IS wormwood in the absinthe. No, you won't see a green fairy.
Excelente lugar, nada ruidoso.
Get the Bloody Mary. Make sure there are pickled green beans in there. Makes the whole drink.
Great drinks, cool atmosphere and you can put your business card on the wall!
Worst service, rude bartenders. No wonder this place is empty on fri of memorial day.
