Has a speakeasy aesthetic from its windowless, living room-style interior down to a functioning doorbell guests have to ring. A charming courtyard with outdoor seating adds a little breathing room. Read more

Sexy wallpaper, awesome booths, delicious drinks. My tip is to leave your name early, get dinner and drinks around the area, and then be ready for Raines at a minute's notice when they call!

Best day to come is midweek after early dinner. The Raines Law Room is a beautiful, sexy and perfect place to unwind, catch up and sip on finely made shaken or stirred cocktails.

Head bartender Adam is a total riot. Hang at the bar to watch him work. Swing by before dinner to put your name in. They keep it intimate. Ring the bell to get service from your private couches.

Lives up to the hype. This speakeasy is very cozy. Only a single small dish of cheese, olives, and soppressata. Try the old fashioned, or anything bourbon based. Peep the wallpaper.

The speakeasy vibe is a little tired (secret stairs, ring a bell, get seated by a bouncer), but this place has a great cozy vibe and really good cocktails.

Tucked away behind a staircase, locked door & a host straight out of the 20s, this vintage speakeasy is the perfect setting for a rendezvous. My vodka gimlet was beyond my normally high standards.

Great for dates. Come 1h earlier than you want to drink. Expect to stand in the back for 1 drink and then sit. Look at the bartender favorites list in the menu for the most interesting cocktails.

Ring bell to be let inside(if full will take your# & call) and step into a cozy subterranean bar "living room" lounge. Bartenders/waitresses friendly. Great creative cocktails.

Ring the bell, get seated in plush couches. Pull chain on wall to order, classy ladies come get your order then bring the drinks from an unseen back bar. Great music/atmosphere. Fantastic date spot.

The bartender is completely amazing - if you don't know what you want, he'll whip something delicious up to please your palate preferences. Atmosphere is great. Best place in nyc I've been to yet.

A hidden gem of epic proportions. Make sure to call ahead to reserve your spot. "Raine's Law" was actually the first of many state laws in the late 1890s that ultimately resulted in Prohibition.

Freaking delicious drinks. Order anything on or off the menu and it'll be great. Just let the waitress know if you're looking for particular liquors and flavors and they'll make a drink just for you!

Gorgeous little speakeasy - ring the bell & you're granted access. Excellent selection of cocktails & the decor is stunning. The Kama sutra styled paisley print on the walls is really something!

Awesome speakeasy but often to go at off times. All the drinks are good, and they have outdoor space/garden in the back for when it's nice. General decor is really dark.

Ring the bell & wait for the maitre'd to stick his nose out. This is a fantastic Date Night spot with a true speakeasy feel. TIP: make a reservation for Mon, Tues, or Wed., otherwise be ready to wait.

While the set up isn't ideal for parties of two, the smart light switch for service and the superb cocktails (the Sicilian Cobbler and Aries Era, for example) are well worth the trip.

Speakeasy-style bar that feels like having drinks at your rich friend's house. Excellent cocktails and a beautiful patio. Reservations recommended for peak hours.

Perfect hidden hole in the wall speakeasy! Looks like an apartment from the outside, you really have to know what you're looking for to find it. Great cocktails, excellent service.

I asked for the American Trilogy although it was not on the menu anymore and I am glad I did. It's an awesome drink. Also the ice is crystal clear, can't tell it's there from the side of your glass.

Intimate setting for hanging out with a date or a couple friends. Couches and chairs in the front, cocktail bar in the back. Try the Pioneer Spirit if you like whiskey.

Where do we begin? First, despite its gorgeous surrounds and dress-up clientele, the service is friendly and gracious. And the faux-discerning and mood-setting French maître d’ at the door is genius. Read more

A first rate speakeasy. ring the bell. Worth the wait for a couch, but they let you watch cocktails being made before you get seated. Get a spicy one.

One of the best cocktail bars in America. Luxurious decor, very well executed drinks. They make everything they mix into the drinks save for the booze.

Buzz to get in. Laid out like a Prohibition-era apartment. Enjoy drinks in the lounge & living room while bartenders make them in the kitch. Pull the chain next to your table to summon your server.

Reservations are good, but you can also leave your name and number at the door and they'll text you when they're ready for you. Go pregame down the street!

Grab a drink at the Rye house while you're waiting for a table. Delish complimentary kettle popcorn. I liked the Pom Collins- very refreshing on a summer day!

Very interesting setup in here. Two sofas share a table and are surrounded by a black curtain to make it intimate. If you're sitting across people you don't know it could get awkward.

You can drink in this standing room only or if available the host will show you to your own secluded, curtained area to enjoy your drink amongst the other hushed speakeasy goers.

TIP: When you ring the doorbell and the doorman says it's full tell them that you will wait in the kitchen and you won't be turned away at the door :)

Cocktails are great. Generally like the place - u pull a cord to signal service is needed, so you won't be bothered unless you want to be. Intimate seating. Cheese and olive plate was ok.
