Back before the overpriced condos and trendmongers of the Meatpacking, Red Cat was making delicious, creative New American cuisine for the art gallery set and other locals. Still as good as ever.

So, I thought the bacon tempura would be gross but delicious. I almost asked not to have it. But then I did. And in the end...it was gross and delicious. Very, very delicious.

If you sit at the bar and order wisely, you can certainly eke out a meal for not much more than $15/head. It was a light meal, we were certainly full when we left, and more than satisfied.

Everything's good. They'll serve their great burger (a bar special) anywhere in the restaurant, just ask for it. You'll have to ask for their excellent herbed fries on the side.
