I’m so in love with both the hearty food and the adorable pastry chef Colleen Grapes. -Zac Young, Top Chef Just Desserts

Back before the overpriced condos and trendmongers of the Meatpacking, Red Cat was making delicious, creative New American cuisine for the art gallery set and other locals. Still as good as ever.
Gourmet cuisine for all your locavore desires.
So, I thought the bacon tempura would be gross but delicious. I almost asked not to have it. But then I did. And in the end...it was gross and delicious. Very, very delicious.
Of the appetizers my favorites were the buratta, fried green beans, and scallop risotto.
the radishes are the reason to have a drink at the bat
If you sit at the bar and order wisely, you can certainly eke out a meal for not much more than $15/head. It was a light meal, we were certainly full when we left, and more than satisfied.
Chelsea's best kept secret. Fantastic food and service.
Favorite neighborhood spot.
Everything's good. They'll serve their great burger (a bar special) anywhere in the restaurant, just ask for it. You'll have to ask for their excellent herbed fries on the side.
In such a wonderful restaurant, I wouldn't recommend the french fries unless they really deserved it. And they are.
Best homeade gingerale, carrot cake, radish bar snacks. Currently enjoying the Cranberry side car....delish
Great menu, wholesome american cuisine, and a place you could go back to over and over again.
The skate is a pretty solid fish choice.
Use the bathroom furthest from the entrance - the photo opposite the toilet will make you giggle.
Fried green beans=must have.
Fried oyster sammy is the bomb
Rarely would you choose to order something as simple + ordinary as a BLT at a restaurant of this caliber, but the BLT here is out of this world perfect w/ an unusual twist of dates for added sweetness
Get the fontina cheese. And for a Lo-carb decadent app eat it with the the radishes instead of the bread.
THE BEST. So fresh and tasty. Always love the radishes.
It sounds boring, but the sauteed zucchini with toasted almond is a signature. Don't miss it. Also love the cod.
One of the best american cuisine restaurants ever. You can order anything, and will be perfection- pork chop, crispy skate... Make sure you start with an amazing cocktail!
Baked fontina will completely fill you up (shared with someone at that). Sunday brunch seems to be enjoyed by mature audience which makes it real brunch, not drunch.
Ask for the dirty burger
Admire funky décor like barn siding and rotating artwork while enjoying perfectly-cooked zucchini, fresh burrata, and grilled beer brats with mac and cheese.
Donuts great...didn't need as much sugar...but good. Be careful to not drop the chocolate on your silk blouse. (oops)
Sarah is great addition to the staff
Try the lobster pierogies and octopus salad- amazing!
Grub Street off-menu dish: Tempura Bacon. "The over-the-top deep-fried bacon dish has been on and off the menu sporadically, though the restaurant assures us it's always available."
Instead of peanuts or party mix, they put out bowls of radishes at the bar. Oh, and the spicy watermelon habanero margarita is an @$$-kicker.
The burger is outrageously good
You are actually better off ordering apps for dinner, they have an amazing selection!
Relax at the bar with a blackberry prosecco before your dinner reservation.
everything I had here (and the service) was so so so good. even the extra dry cappuccino at the end of my meal was perfect. i recommend everything.
I agree with the other tips, tempora green beans are amazing. Randomly found this place by walking past it, best piece of luck this year!
Try the baked fontina w/ herbs and garlic for melted cheese gooey goodness
Basil gimlet again
Start with cocktails - can't go wrong with the Violet Spritzer. Then, order a side of tempura green beans. Not listed as an appetizer, but they'll serve it as one. Next, calf's liver = Divine.
Get the tempura.
The zuchini is so simple and fresh. A classic dish here. Fried green beans are also great.
Amazing food. Get the duck!
Super slow lunch service
The skate and polenta dish is phenomenal
