The landmark building of The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco was formerly Metropolitan Life Insurance Company- which in 1909 broke tradition on Nob Hill, as it wasn’t a fiscal institution!

Afternoon Tea is extraordinary. Try the Mango-Mimosa and the Earl Grey. Atmosphere is wonderful...calming, enjoyable by yourself or with friends. I like it to simply chill after a long week! Read more

This hotel is on top of a hill (lobby is on the fourth floor but all rooms are built below it) so make sure you are are in decent shape if you plan on walking a lot to/from the hotel.

Fresh from a makeover (good-bye chintz, hello earth-toned geometric patterns), today’s Ritz, near Nob Hill, still has doting service.

Don't use Valet Parking, it's $72 per night with tax. There is a garage down the street for $20 and you park on the street for free overnight on Sundays.

Wednesday they have a seafood raw bar in the evenings. The corn beef hash and the mini burgers are great. The pasta not so much tastes like out of the box.

Service was FANTASTIC. The only mess up was that the valet mixed up which car was mine and that was once. Besides that, everyone was friendly, addressed me as "Mr Smith" and were true hotel employees.
