This is a Seattle staple- go see a show here. Many famous musicians have graced the stage, and its size keeps the shows intimate. Tip- getting tickets at box office saves tons (no ticketmaster fees).
Founded 1939, The Showbox is one of the town's few extant entertainment venues. It has provided local music fans a diverse offering of music over the decades in the storied ballroom
Although it has had its ups and downs in times past, today it remains active as a significant contributor to Seattle's music scene, presenting more than 200 concerts per year
If you get to the "Green Room" bar before they open doors, you can skip waiting in the lines for concerts outside. Bar attenders are given numbers when they arrive that let them into the venue first.
Saw a twenty one pilots concert here, and I was in the back on a balcony. Even then, the view was still great! It is a reasonably small place but I would recommend it to anyone! :D
From the Jazz Age to the Grunge Era, the storied ballroom has featured shows by touring icons such as Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters and the Ramones.
Awesome venue! Great view of the stage from pretty much any where you stand.
Don't piss off the door guy, the bartender or the woman at the entry to the women's bathroom......they are all pretty angry here...
I saw Tim and Eric here a few years ago and the sound was killer. Great sounding venue and a decent staff.
Amex Travel tip: This art deco gem was integral to the Grunge Era & is the birthplace to bands like Pearl Jam.
If you get there late, hang out in the bar on the left side of the stage for the best view.
You can only have drinks in the bar area. Say whaaaat? (Other than that, fabulous environment!)
There is actually an underground tunnel to the Pike Place Market through which bathtub gin was secreted during Prohibition.

Beautiful venue in the heart of the city. Prepare for panhandlers if you're expecting a queue.
Local legend has it that The Showbox sits atop an underground cathedral built with the bones of failed Seattle grunge bands.
Perfect medium size venue. Big enough for the big guys while simultaneously feeling intimate. Saw the roots here on 12/28. Amazing.
On 02/11/2011 the Decibel Sponsored Creatures from the Black Abyss Tour stops here! Featuring Cradle of Filth, Nachtmystium, Turisas and Daniel Lioneye

They oversell shows here, so line up early if you want a seat.

It's a little dated but has some charm. The bar locations could be better though.
$1 off beers for fans of '80s new wave. You must demonstrate knowledge of the genre.
Best venue in seattle. Anywhere you stand it's a good seat. Love it!
This is the only bar in Seattle which still allows smoking indoors.
Don't see Above & Beyond here if you don't like to have the beat time of your LIFE!
Buying tix at the box office saves you the from the ridiculous service fees from ticketmaster.
My grandma used to dance here. Dancefloor is suspended by cables... Or was.
Get there early and grab a table.
Showbox SoDo is so much nicer than this dump. Way better sound, too.
Always a classic place to go see a show.
The setup is a lot better here then the SoDo one.
One of the best venues in Seattle to see a show.
After the show, get a Monster Dog with cream cheese and onions. No, really.
Water station, with cups, at stage end of left bar.
