http://TownsendHotel.com | In the heart of downtown Birmingham, which is the swankiest of the Detroit suburbs, the areas 'celebrity hotel.' The moment you walk in the door you are treated like a VIP.

We only came here for a professional event, but the venues was beautiful and the finger foods delicious, staff was incredibly welcoming. Really seems like a great hotel

Really exceptional hotel. Clientele in bar/restaurant was a little eclectic leaning on the old money side of auto. Food was amazing and featured a nice wine list as well. Read more

Unequivocal service that high profile chain hotels cannot deliver. The staff is a pleasure to deal with, formal, proper and professional as one should expect. Enjoy afternoon tea time. Read more

nice morning coffee / tea service. fresh fruit @ reception. 1 of the top 10 best grits in the US (according to me). Balso good breakfast 1 block away @ toast. for a good pub scene try dick o dow's.

The only boutique hotel in town. A bit formal—traditional European decor, an afternoon tea service—but not overly stuffy. (Your dog is welcome to stay, too.)

For drinks - belly up to bar at the Rugby Grille. Unless of course you want to be on episode of "Cops" - head to The Corner Bar or South.

Tory Is right. The Townsend is the only boutique hotel in Metro-Detroit. Be sure to check out the fab Birmingham shopping nearby.
