THE VANDERBILT opened its doors on October 23, 2009. It was designed with the casual comfort of a neighborhood restaurant/bar with market-inspired New American bar fare by Chef Saul Bolton (also of SAUL Restaurant, Red Gravy & Brooklyn Bangers).
Good service, lots of space for big groups, and good beer list. Veggie burger not recommended though
used to be fantastic but fallen so far, cold hamburgers, rotten pickles, & terrible service. I used to go here weekly and now I've finally gone my last time. Don't waste your time.
I am a bacon fan, but the breakfast sausage had a nice spice/sweet balance
I am drunk because I ordered food over an hour ago and it isn't here and I've been drinking to cope
the brunch prix fixe is awesome. the banger and mash is soooo good
Spotty service. Some staff is ok, but others are complete trash at their jobs. Hit or miss.
Sit at the counter, grab a beer, and chomp on the beef jerky.
Chips and tie, try it!
Great Burger. Semi freddo was delicious
Get the duck wings and pâté
Get the Brussels sprouts & the cottage fries
THE DUCK WINGS
The service here was excellent! I feel like finding good service is so tough these days. The host was so kind and the food was surprisingly good
Get a beer, a few $1 duck wings and hunker down at the bar for Monday Night Football.
Drinks and food
Lots of house sodas. Get the root beer. It's amazing!
Cocktails and charcuterie. Don't overextend yourself with some of the larger menu items; also despite the wine list there's nothing all that serious to drink
The veggie burger was amazing, good beer options too. And fast friendly service!
We love snacks – especially the ones served up at The Vanderbilt. Our personal favorites are the Beef Jerky, Strong Beans, Carrot Salami, & the Rabbit Mortadella! (Order all of the cocktails!)
Everything on the menu is great. Really.
Indulge your inner Midwestern fatso with the delicious cheddar bratwurst
Excellent! Sat by the grill , chef gave us complimentary deserts and other treats.
Wish the food was as superb as the service.
Don't order the cheesecake. Two 1x1 inch bites with a small scoop of ice cream and the requisite raspberry drizzle on the plate. For $9. Meh.
Skip the beignets, really thick. The exact opposite of Cafe Du Monde beignets.
whatever you do, try the Brussels sprouts.
Nothing great, tasteless beignets, my eggs were floating in hollandaise sauce... Not coming back
Service is slower than molasses
An hour for eggs over easy with sausage and medium rare steak and eggs? I like it here but the kitchen is too slow.
The brussel sprouts are as great as everyone says, as are the cottage fries. Be prepared for slow service, though.
Service was so slow that despite good food I'll probably never return.
Sat @ the chefs counter... Great experience.
DUCK WINGS!! Order the Duck Wings NOW!
Braised short rib dish and Brussels sprouts starters, do it.
Appetizers? The Shisito Peppers (make sure to dip them in the Pimentón powder) and and the Deviled Eggs. I thought the jerkey was just "eh".
Stay for the food, leave because the music is really bad.
While the brunch here is pretty solid, we like to come here for a cocktail & the Crispy Duck wings after seeing a concert at Barclays. From 11pm-12:30am Thursday to Saturday, it's happy hour!
get the chili for brunch. It's what it sounds like&is good. Chicken hash sounds delic, bt ingredients don't coalesce into a cohesive dish. In the end it lacked flavor and the veggies were nearly raw.
Michelin-starred chef Saul Bolton does a small plates-based bar and restaurant.
Great drinks for brunch- Bellini's are a must. Try the skirt steak... but not the eggs Vanderbilt!
Really good beef jerky. Really.
Duck through the mysterious-looking, white-tiled front door to find a gleaming stainless steel and tile interior, elevated southern snacks, and a sleek, speakeasy-worthy ambiance.
There must be two chefs. Sometimes it's phenomegorical and sometimes it's good edging on weird.
Amazing burger, cool atmosphere.
Delic! Tess is the best.
