A Canberra institution (first licensed outdoor venue in Aus!). Great atmosphere, though the food quality varies, they still have some great options (gluten free stuff).
The chips. Get the chips.
Good for a quiet chat over coffee
The soup of the day is a great value meal, but you'll need an extra serve of bread.
Standard (in a good way!) chocolate milkshake hits the spot!
Don't eat but definitely drink!
They are stingy with the hillandaise sauce but just ask for more.
Dirty dark dusty place, avoid unless you like filthy places.
Coffee was ordinary, pancakes were below average, but the eggs and bacon were great. The jazzy music was unique and made for a nice atmosphere. Made me want to dance with/for my breakfast.
The Veggie Lot is great & the salt & pepper squid is the best you'll ever try. But be prepared for in-your-face Cbr attitude at its peak - the arrogance of this place (prices, rules) is astounding.
The veggie big breakfast is great, even for meat eaters! Very packed on weekends though, and they are reluctant to take bookings.
New York Fries with Aioli. You won't regret it!!!
Also try their salt & pepper squid salad and portuguese chicken burger.
Has one of the best NY cheesecake!:) Soft yet so dense. Exquiste to share with friends with jazz music in the background.
Get the chocolate flourless cake. It's delicious!
lots of great vegetarian options plus a good selection of wines and beers and good coffee - reasonably priced and fantastic venue for live performances
Great service! Got recommended the pimms and lemon. Tastes pretty good
Beautiful decor and atmosphere. A real gem
Great place for meetings with clients you can often find me there!
Coffee below average Canberra standard. Breakfast above average Can standard - beautiful sourdough toast, perfect eggs & crispy bacon. Skip the pancakes or at least ask for half syrup when ordering.
Muesli with fruit compote and yoghurt. Delicious!
Kitchen closes at 4pm on a Sunday
Great place, but no all-day breakfast on weekends :-( Be there before 12 for bacon!
Baked beans are great for breakfast
Tilley's has the air of a 20's jazz club no matter what time of day you're hear. It's an oasis in the bland nothingness of Canberra's northern suburbs with good coffee, food and (tragically trad) jazz
Great atmosphere on a Sunday morning
