TKTS is excellent. I kept an eye on all the websites for tickets for weeks, and I saved $120 on a pair of tickets the first show and $80 on my second pair. Can't beat it.

Buy day-of-show tickets for 1/2 price + $4.50 service charge.12 windows really reduce the wait in line, and there's a window just for plays. Sometimes cheaper to go to box office for rear mezz seats.

Be warned: the people hanging out along the line with show flyers don't work for tkts, they work for the show they're promoting Any information they give you should be considered from that perspective

Don't go here expecting good deal. Total bait and switch. Website claims price range for specific shows. window guy tells me we never offer the lower priced tickets. Wtf? Box office cheaper at door!

If you don't care what you see and want cheaper tickets, go for a show that has "worse" seats. You'll still have a great view but won't pay as much.

Absolutely worth waiting in line. Have a couple shows in mind in case the one you want is sold out by the time you reach the booth. Discount tickets on Broadway shows... can't beat it.

Generally it can take 20min waiting in the line but if you have a ticket for the last 7 days you can go directly to the cashiers. The deals worth it, but it sucks to wait jn line during the winter.

Worth the wait. Got 5 tickets with great seats all together to Chicago day of show (Saturday) for an affordable price. Many shows to choose from.

If you are eyeing specific show, need to get there before it opens and wait. If you don't care what shoe you see going right before the closing will get you something. Certain days are tougher

Get there 45 mins early before they open at 3pm. Lines look long but they move fast. We were in a zig zag line but were surprised it only took 30mins. Our tix were $73 for Cripple of Inishmaan.

Go to the downtown location if you know what you want (check the app) and if it's a broadway show. I think they're open earlier and lines are definitely shorter.

Get the TKTS app. It'll give you info on the latest shows. It won't be helpful for TODAY's shows necessarily but you can kind of suss out the situation from yesterday's shows etc.

Super long line I suggest waiting an hour and a half early before it opens at 3pm daily. Totally worth it for the price you pay for Broadway shows (30-50% off!)

If you go at 5:30 and want to see a play, they may say it's just one line, but ask up front and they let you in to the much much shorter play line

Go to the Downtown Brooklyn or South Street Seaport Booth for much shorter lines. Also, you can download the app to easily see what shows are available.

TKTS seems like the best deal, but most shows offer cheaper seats when the box office opens or lotteries. And TKTS seats are very hit and miss. Do some research before you wait in line...

Often great seats are released late, 2 hours before show time, when theaters decide what they're not going to sell.

Have a general idea of what a regularly priced ticket costs (look online or ask at the show's box office before)... TKTS just tried to sell me a $45 regular price ticket for $52.

The play express line is faster, especially since you don't have to come right when the booth opens to use it! Come a bit later and feel like a VIP while using the play express.

Not sure the play express line is faster. Looks like a 30 minute wait if you show at 10 am. The mixed line may be faster.

Be smart, bring a friend since lines are long and you can only purchase a maximum of four tickets per person! Take turns holding places in line to check on deals and take bathroom or snack breaks.

There's an iPhone app called At The Booth that lets you see what's on sale and how long the line. Use that to plan when you go to the booth and what night. Good tool.

Would not recommend the play 'Race'. Acting was just OK & the play is VERY short, about an hour & 15 minutes. Not worth the money, even at a discount. Paid full price & felt like we were ripped off.
