If you're looking for some really awesome milk foam to put your brown sugar in, you're at the right place. All staff wear something on their heads in the proper "hipster" way. Nice atmosphere!

The pour over coffees are amazing at this Australian coffee shop! If you have a couple of hours to spare on a Saturday afternoon, register for their cupping class held by one of their baristas.

Toby's might be the best coffee shop in NYC. The espresso drinks are great, food is delicious, and decor is hip. Be prepared to watch like a hawk for a seat to open up.

The flat whites are always my go to. Creamy balance of milk and espresso means this coffee will kick start my day right every time. (The scrambled egg sandwich is delish too!)

Yes, the coffee is amazing. Yes, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. But just as good as those things is their food. Don't miss the grilled pork sausage and apple slaw sandwich. Or any sandwich.

Aussies rejoice! Yummy cookies that taste even better dipped in a deliciously authentic flat white. A bit crowded, but it's fun when it is. That middle table or by the window = perfect for journaling.

A great 'Third Wave' coffee shop, fantastic espresso and 'flat white'. It can be hard to get seats but worth it for the Avocado on Toast. Aussies and Kiwis should try the Vegemite on Toast.

Nice iced latte. Beautiful surrounding. Free and fast wifi, remember to ask p/w when you order the coffee. No outlets. Someone will find the seat before order. It's good to stay and enjoy coffee.

The high ceiling and huge front window give this coffee shop an open air feeling. Many tables big and small where sitting with people you don't know seems encouraged. Will be back if in the area.

Amazing bean roasters that many other coffee shops serve. Here you can get drinks made from skilled baristas straight from the source. Incredible espresso and iced coffee drinks. Huge space.

5 stars for natural light, diversity of seating options, & frequent Aussie accents. Additional points awarded for complete lack of outlets. Bring pen & paper, as laptop work will stop w your battery ❤

Because it's new & large ... the instinct is to instantly dislike this place. However, service is good, coffee is great, the space is pleasing ... and they've embraced the Australian "Flat White!"

Got good coffee here, and almost as many Japanese girls as the nearby Starbucks, which has better air conditioning (let's be honest). Still, a strong #2! EDIT: I was wrong. Toby's is #1. Sorry, SB 😩

The first time I loved it... the second time I was less impressed. Friendly staff, but the prices are inflated; and the place is packed. It's like an Macbook showroom in here.

Beautiful large sun-soaked space with a fabulous coffee and food menu. Sandwiches and baked goods are all so delicious. Bacon-lacquered bacon...yes.

The skill of the staff and quality of the coffee trumps the sour sideways glances of the clientele. It's like romper room for bitter, failed child actors. With fantastic coffee.

Excellent coffee shop, if you live in the area. Always packed, but line moves fast. Internet is meh and no outlets. Good for reading books, not doing laptop stuff.

Toby's has a beautiful seating area, but you'll never get to sit there. The people already there are actors, paid to show up before opening and stay until after closing. That's the only explanation.

Did not care for the avocado toast here (strange black sesame seeds on top and unevenly distributed sea salt). But the masala chai latte is absolutely to die for!

Worst service ever. Sloooow, coffee not announced (cold when I noticed it was done minutes ago), muffin not served despite we were told they'll bring it to our table, etc. // Flat White & meals fine.

I ordered vanilla latte not knowing that in hipsterland that's considered a horrible crime. Barista couldn't keep his mouth shut, he responded rudely. Coffee wasn't THAT good either. Not coming back.
