Welcome to Tom's Restuarant! Tom's is a family-owned restaurant that has been around since the 1940's. It has been graced with a song by Suzanne Vega and most recently it is the site of Monk's Diner from the hit sitcom Seinfeld.
It's fine. A typical diner that gets press because of Seinfeld.
Booths. Fries. Ketchup.
Broadway shakes: only real reason to come here
Typical all-American diner near Columbia University. Also the site of Monk's Dinner in Seinfeld and only 1 stop north from the hostel on the Upper West Side (or a 10-minute walk).
The best pancakes on the boardwalk!
Good burgers, quick service
Make sure you wipe utensils and order and extra drink with meal or you'll get a baby drink.Despite being sent to back of restaurant to dirty table by lady at the front, the food and server were great
Ingrid is hands down the best server. Everything is made with love that's why everything tastes so good...
I took a friend from New Mexico to Tom's Restaurant and she was super-excited, being a Seinfield fan and all!!! We took a pic here at 3:00am!!! I love having breakfast at Tom's!!!
It may only have used its exterior in Seinfeld, but it's still iconic for anyone who loves the show.
I love this place but be ready to eat and run, not much of a leisurely hang around vibe.
Jerry Seinfeld' restaurant!
Classic diner fare. Also the iconic Seinfeld facade.
Ingrid the server was probably the sweetest and nicest server i ever met. As long as you do it with love
Seinfeld was NOT filmed inside here: only the outside was used on the show. There is a signed poster inside. Like most diners, cash only, but handy in that they actually have an ATM.
Customer service here is terrible. Also the diner didn't look anything like it does in Seinfeld.
Milkshakes and malted milk both are SO good, consistently. My favorite non-spiked milkshake in the neighborhood.
A must for Seinfeld fans. Diner food. Decent prices.
What's not to like?
Casual diner. Great for breakfast.
Share a milkshake. They are really big.
It's the restaurant that features in every Seinfeld episode. Take a picture of the place, but don't go in. Some of their waiters can't even speak English. Food is average. It's not worth it.
I strictly went here for "Seinfeld". The service is incredibly fast and I ordered Tom's "famous" shishkabob which was sub par. Cool diner-like atmosphere but I would say just get your pic and leave.
Can't go wrong with any breakfast foods
This place is famous for the sitcom "Seindfield". The staff is friendly. Pumkin soup is awesome!
You know it from Seinfeld
Most people come here to visit the shrine to Seinfeld, but they stay because of the milkshakes and the good diner food
Bread and scrambled eggs. Bathroom is pretty full of drawings, though :)
My go-to restaurant for drunk food. Amazing milkshakes and breakfast food. Don't get seafood though, that's not their specialty.
Had the soup, chicken fingers, and turkey triple decker. Good food!
When you ask for a double burger, it is not 2 patties as you'd suspect, it's actually 2 glorious whole burgers. So good and worth it.
2 👍👍 up! I went strictly because of the obvious, Seinfeld. And I ended up loving it! The server was great, was great. Oreo shake is awesome. Chocolate pancakes too! Outside seating available.
Get the Ruben sandwich for $10. Comes with fries and he sandwich is massive. Easily feeds two people. Also get the chocolate milkshake
Great value for money and lovely staff
Don't you just take a picture outside :) Try breakfast and pancakes. Friendly staff...
This is the restaurant that's Seinfeld filmed or his episodes in
Fish and Chips, service is quick, but not fast food quick. Great conversational environment.
Fish and Chips. Great value, not to slow, very clean. Great place to have a conversation or date.
Did not order the big salad #Seinfeld
Very tasty homemade soups
Though the facade is only featured on Seinfeld, I felt like I walked right onto set; waitress spent the entire hour+ eating(complete with ice cream @8 AM?) and picking pimples off her face. WWGD?
They never filmed Seinfeld here, just the exterior. Jerry Seinfeld & Jason Alexander did film an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee as their famous characters in season 3 "The Over-Cheer" ☺
Pancakes were tasty.
Great late night study spot in the summer when Butler Library isn't open 24/7. Free WiFi from campus and bottomless coffee.
Food is crappy. Have a milk shake and/or fries. Then eat dinner next door at Dig Inn.
An icon. Great food. Doesn't take cards :(
Tasty food. Great atmosphere. Cash only so come prepared.
Monk's Café in Seinfeld ... Broiled Salmon is my favorite here. Otw Deluxe burger or hot pastrami sandwich r a good choice for quick meal between classes.
