People tend to check in during these times:
Originally called Mom’s, it was renamed after Tootsie Bess bought the bar in 1960 & it was mistakenly painted orchid color. Willie Nelson, Mel Tillis, Waylon Jennings & Patsy Cline have been patrons.
You can get in faster if you try the back door, during the weekends.
Walk in the front, go upstairs, walk out the back, turn right, and go to Robert's.
Not just for tourists! I usually start upstairs to avoid the crowd. If you sit or stand at the end of the bar nearest to the band you will get served faster.
Ask for Humphrey and tell him to play “Old Flames.”
A must-visit for tourists and locals. I have a feeling this famous venue is always insanely crowded...best honkytonk on Broadway though.
A great place to watch music. Crowded? YES! Loud? YES! Good Beer? YES! It is all part of the experience, great party, great time! Don't miss it when you are in Nashville.
Famous honkey tonk bar
fun times day or night
Local Tip! If the line is moving slow at the front door... try the entry in the back- little to no lines- you enter at the "upstairs bar" everyone has posted about... have fun!
Honky Tonk, seems very popular cool atmosphere.
This place is definitely worth checking out- it is world famous, after all.
If gets verrrry busy on the weekends! Plan to be in close quarters with everyone in the crowd.
Go upstairs to the other bar. Not as crowded and seriously talented bands playing current country covers and some rock.
The bar staff is extremely friendly and will have a beer in your hand as soon as you step through the door.
Don't go on a Friday or Saturday buy all other times you don't have to be elbow to elbow
Don't try the "Special" her as they apparently don't honor the Special that is on Four Square
Rock out with Anthony Orio and the Goodfellers.. They'll play just about any request and nail it! Always a good time!
I love the historical aspect of this bar... but that's about it. It's always too crowded for you to really enjoy yourself, unless you like feeling like a sardine. The place is mostly hype, sadly.
the place to go for country music fans. lots of people have filmed music videos here
Tootsie's has a great rooftop experience with great live music!
Go for live music and some local beer. Bring your cowboy boots!
Scott Collier is a great time! Must see!
Packed tighter than a pair of Wranglers. Always.
Left my mark.. Find it and ill buy you a beer! :)
The front is way better than the back. The guy playing in the back is terrible.
Great bands. And good atmosphere- Fun place to put down a few!
Two stages. One in back up the stairs. Backs upto the alley of The Ryman. A smokie dive. Seeing Tyler Stephens show case. Can be crowded.
Force your way through the crowds, up the stairs and perch somewhere near the cigarette machine to people watch, and get the best acoustics for the shows!
Check your claustrophobia at the door..
It's always great to watch the bands in the front room, but don't forget to check out the "Back Room Bands" as well... they need love too!! :-)
Nice place with alive music
You can't go to Nashville without going to tootsies. Great bands performing daily
First time in Nashville and this place was wild! Had so much fun. My first ever honky tonk.
Live music and a great party. The bands are very talented and really get the crowd going.
Great rooftop overlooking Broadway with live music
The best place on the strip. All the best bands play here.
Music and fried pickles
Terrible service. Rude bartenders. Will never ever come here again.
I became a fan of Honky Tonk in this joint, the live music was amazing, wouldn't order any food tho
Great Live music on two stages!
No wifi which is silly, but fantastic limearitas!
A must see while in Music City
