It all started in the 50s... Would you believe we started out as a small chain of convenience stores? It's true. Way back in 1958. We were called Pronto Markets. In '67, our founder, the original Trader Joe, changed our name (yes, to Trader Joe's) and the way we do busi...
Great Deals on Wine!
The prices are decent for great product!
Cheapest groceries in Manhattan. Avoid coming on Friday Saturday and unsay
Have a buddy fetch groceries while you wait in line.
Only place in town that has affordable groceries
They are always out of the good fruits and vegetables whenever I come!
Give a worker 5 bucks and skip the long line
Best grocery store in NYC. Lines like a meat packing club if you're not careful
The line is long. Beware
The best grocery store near Union Square. Reasonable prices with a great selection.
Go early in the morning or at random afternoon hours to avoid the long lines that wrap around the store!
I hope you like waiting in chaotic lines
If you're a Postmate that needs help with a big list for a customer, ask for Jasmine. She's great!
Don't like this location but when in need, you just have to suck it up.... I like the one in Chelsea 7th avenue much better
The lines are long enough that you will do half your shopping in line, but it's worth it
the line around lunch time is usually pretty short
I made it through my entire shopping list during rush hour on a Thursday with NO LINE! How is this possible?
Crowded on Sunday
Huge queues...Plan accordingly.
This location is always a crowded mess EXCEPT in the last 30 minutes before closing (closes at 10)
Love their samples! Great, friendly service. Fresh food! The only problem is there are really long lines :/
My #1 food shopping store in NYC. Great deals.
Come here after lunch and before rush hour for shorter lines.
Line went out the door in freezing temps. So I went to the TJ wine store instead. 😃
Make sure to grab everything you need from the interior of the store then shop the exterior while you're in line. Go to the line farthest to the right if you need dairy items.
The line is out the door at tjs
the customers are ANGRY while the customer service couldn't be friendlier.
Go early in the morning to avoid the huge crowds and to avoid having your favorite product being out of stock
Monday and Tuesdays are the most crowded. But the bananas are fresh and the staff is friendly.
I can't live without their Chicago style mix popcorn, among other things.
It's super busy, but don't let the line intimidate you because it moves along pretty quickly. Also, the employees are most likely the nicest you will ever meet. I am obsessed.
Line system is horrible. Limited items at the store
Bring reusable bags, they'll give you a discount. Also the free coffee samples are fantastic.
Come either right at opening (8am) or mid afternoon (3pm). Gets crowded later in the morning and then packed before dinner.
The guy in front of me in line is a genius. He walked into the store and immediately joined the (very long, as usual) line with a completely empty cart and is shopping from the line as it progresses.
This place is always a zoo. I wouldn't dare go during lunch or after work. The line snakes around the whole store!
Great Deals on Wine!
Very busy location, but line moves fast.
Trader Joe's is great. This one gets busy. I pick up the stuff I need from the middle of the store and grab items from around the outside while I'm in line. Patience is virtue!
Came on a Wednesday when it was raining (expecting a shorter line) - BIG mistake! Line started when I entered the store. My advice: get your frozen items LAST if you can!
Look closely. This place is full of love.
You can get all the essentials in the outside line - vegetables, fruit, bread, cheese, meat, dairy, juice and beer. The pro move is to bring a friend to run around for the rest while you stay in line.
Go to the 6th Avenue location if you can. This store is hard to navigate and constantly overcrowded.
SUCH. Long. Lines. Thank goodness for a West Side Market opening on 12th and 3rd.
I don't care how fast the lines move. They are the equivalent of running a marathon. The more people you bring the better. You can each do a task while someone waits online. True meaning of tag team
Longest lines ever but managed well. Crazy set up though with one store for food and another for wine.
Pro Tip 1: Go with someone who stands in line while you shop. Pro Tip 2: Shop the middle aisles first. Then stand in the outside line and shop veggies, bread, cheeses, meats, cereals and dairy.
The frozen mango chunks, crunchy cookie butter, and the ginger snaps are all must-haves. Obviously because they're TJ's extremely healthy options
Smaller selection than in the one on 72nd.
Incredibly bust store, love it but stop at this location only when I absolutely have to.
