This park has a great entertainment for you: breakdancing, skateboarding, street fairs and it's in the heart of a dynamic shopping area! Plenty of benches for you to relax & a dog friendly zone!
Forget Times Square. This is the real crossroads of NYC.
the market is a must, be prepared to give a free hug.

While sitting on the benches, if there are any scraps of food near your feet kick them away immediately or prepare for totally unafraid birds and animals to basically corner you, lol.
Go to Union Square Playground - coolest new 15,000 square playground in downtown NY - Union Square Park at 16th Street. Take 4,5,6,N, R, Q, W Train to 14th Street exit onto 16th Street

Since 9/11, every political debate starts here!
The best time is at night when the square quiets down a bit. Just walk around and take in the openness around you. Very rare to get this much space in the center of everything.
