Great fun! My favourites were Springfield and Studio Tour. Have enough time to visit the attractions and rides. Expect to wait 30-45 minutes to the popular attractions. Summertime probably more.

Parking can be a bit confusing. Arriving right at opening and taking advantage of single rider lines (aka no lines) will get you far! It's possible to do every attraction in the park in one day!

Go early, get in single riders if you want to do all rides without standing more than 5-10minutes in a line. And if you do not mind not sitting with the people who you came with.

With all the renos going on right now, the studio tour is shorter. The Waterworld stunt show is definitely worth seeing, but make sure you get a seat in the back - unless you enjoy being drenched.

Go early about one pm or earlier gets so crowded you can't get around. We went at 10:30am and left at five. And still didn't get to see every thing. It would take two or three days to see it all.

King Kong 360 3D and Transformers 3D are worth the wait. Don't like long lines? use the single rider line. You can get right on in no time. Waterworld is a must see. It never gets old. See it at night

Fun rides. I recommend the Universal Studios Tour ride but it gets very crowded so do that one in the morning. The stores outside of the amusement park are real nice. There are lots of restaurants.

Buy a minion sipper and you can have a huge cup of soda for free which will pretty much last you for the day. If not, any refills will be $0.99 each time so if you plan to buy one, buy early.

Go early... Go directly to the lower lot and go on all of the rides there. Best rides are on the lower lot (transformers, the mummy and Jurrasic Park). Then go back to the upper lot and back lot tram

The Despicable Me, Transformers and Jurassic Park rides are very good. Also, do not miss the studio tour. The wait times reduce drastically around 7pm (after most families with kids leave).
  • Bryan W.
    Bryan WiedeyJune 7, 2012
Front of the Line pass is worth it. Saved about 6 hours of wait time (Transformers ride wait was 90 minutes on its own) with the rides - which some of them we did twice. Also priority seating at shows

As far as thrill rides there are not a lot here and I would recommend the Florida park or Disneyland, but If you're a movie buff this park is incredible as it is located on the Universal Film sets!
  • Joseph R.

Since the studio tour takes almost an hour, if you're going on weekends get there when the park opens and head straight for the tour if you want to experience King Kong 360. Otherwise it'll be a long

If you live in Los Angeles and want a Universal Studios Season Pass, pay the extra dollars and get the FRONT OF THE LINE pass.. you will not regret it.. get in front of every attraction and go through
  • Martin M.

Don't buy the front of the line pass if you are going solo. Solo rider has their own line and it's fast. Also, right now is buy one at normal price and get an annual pass upgrade free for 2014!

there are several shops, they often are pricey do to the location and it also has merchandise of famous movies and popular attractions, over all, great and fun place for the whole family

Eat place I have ever been - I felt entertained all day. Get there EARLY to dodge the queues for the main rides, start at the back of the park (Transformers) and work your way back.

Got the fastest food poisoning from the burger restaurant in the food court upstairs. Nice souvenir shops and interesting How-to-make-movies experience. If you've done it before don't do it again!!

via LA Mag: Ticket price is steep and the amusement park section is second rate. But for 100 years, movies have been made here. Stick to the lower-level tram tour: from Psycho to Wisteria Lane.

Great place! The transformers 3D ride is a must try. Also get a minion cup from one of the stores :-). Plus its a great place for a family trip. I give this place 4.5 out 5.

This is my favorite theme park that I've been to. There's more to see and do than just rides but the rides that are there are REALLY fun! Definitely go for a couple days!

Great fun! Take all the rides, watch the shows and have great time. You may really get wet at WaterWorld. Mummy (ride) is the least interesting. Simpsons, Minions and Transformers rides are amazing!

TRANSFORMER ride is THE BEST! Kids love it & it's also nice that they make it easy to get photo ops with Magatron & Optimus! Get to the park early & make a beeline here before going on anything else.

1 front of the line pass really does deliver- I went on a relatively busy day and never waited for anything bc of my pass. 2 get there when the gates open, the park gets properly full by 11am

No trip to LA is complete without a day spent at universal studios. The studio tour is great and was worth the 1 hour wait. Try a giant donut and some flaming Moe's at Moe's tavern.

While most first-time Los Angeles visitors consider this to be a must-see stop, bear in mind there many other attractions that define Hollywood that aren't a tourist trap with steep prices.

Carl Laemmle's original tour included a chance for guests to buy fresh produce since Universal City was still in part a working farm. The narrated tram (formerly "Glamortram") launched in 1964.

Like to go to CityWalk and check out the street performers. Sometimes Shashaty plays over at the Starbucks. Nice to enjoy a coffee drink and some nice sax with your sweetheat.

If you are visiting Venice Beach beforehand, stop by at the Costco nearby. Season passes are like fifteen dollars cheaper than even the one time general admission at the gates.

I love Universal. But its gotten really expensive. Not worth $95 a person. Id rather go to Disney for that price. The gate pictures a way way too expensive. Fun time but probably my last time going.

The Jurassic Park dinos featured in this theme park's ride couldn’t produce lysine. In real life, they’d need help from Dacheng Industrial, among the world’s foremost synthesizers of the amino acid.

Shrek 4-DGo on the left side for everything and you'll save time. Use the left most turnstile. Head to the left side inside the building. Head to the left side of the auditorium.

If your a film fanatic go here, you get to see the sets for the hundreds of films and go on some really good 3D roller-coasters and rides. just a thrill seeker? I would suggest somewhere else.

Don't skip waterworld show and ride the mummy! But if you have already been in Universal Orlando, don't expect too much, a bit disappointing though, there is no roller coaster in this one:///
  • Néstor

I was unconvinced about the "3d attractions" until I tried them. They really feel like you are on a movie and the adrenaline rush is similar as with real rollercoasters!

Nice park, it fits all ages and has many interesting shows and rides. I believe one full day is enough to go over the entire park. Absolutely recommend it

DO NOT buy your annual pass online. You will be forced to wait in a processing line out of the park for an hour. Instead, buy a one day at the gate, go in, and upgrade inside.

Come during weekdays, come in the morning, and not during the summer season - and you don't have to overpay for the Front of the line pass. The lines are very short and go fast now.

When it opens quickly run to the other level to finish the rides to avoid the queue. Studio tour should be done last because the queue there moves quickly anyway.

Do the tram ride through the Hollywood Back Lot as soon as you arrive. It's the longest activity, but you won't have to wait and horribly long line if you go first thing!

You don't really need a whole day here, and the rides aren't as awesome as other those at other parks, but it's still fun to check out for the tour and Jurassic Park!
