The price of real estate in the Upper East Side is upwards of $1,200/square foot, or you could spend that money on Taco Bell. That's what I'd do.
Avoid 86th street if you want to avoid pedestrian rage.

Go to the newly opened Babeth's Feast on Third Avenue to have a browse around this frozen-food only store. You'll find delicious eats like lobster macaroni & cheese.
I just moved to the area and very much enjoy it so far. Great restaurant choices. Clean. Seems like cool people. Will check back again once I know more ;-)

The Upper East Side is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, between Central Park and the East River.
Museum Mile, Central Park, Fifth Avenue; the glory of Park Avenue; elegant side streets (especially in the 60s) of stone mansion after stone mansion.
You have a nice selection of restaurants and bars to choose from.
Phoenix Park on 67th btwn 2nd & 3rd is a great neighborhood pub. Awesome sliders too, a must.
Catch the 4,5,6 subway on 86th and Lex, 4 & 5 are express and are best if you're going anywhere south of 59th St.
It's a great place. Come visit.
Don Pedro's on 96th and 1st is thee place for amazing latin cuisine
