The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, originally brought to New York in 1996, has earned itself the reputation as New York City's best comedy club, bringing world-renowned comedy acts, classes, and open mics to New Yorkers for over a decade...
Worth taking a gamble on an unfamiliar show, drop ins are constant.
Free show Sundays at 9:30pm. Tickets are distributed at 8:15pm
Any place where Amy Schumer randomly shows up is a treasure.
Get there earlier then you think. The lines get long real quick.
See an improv or sketch show here.
Always a great cheap night out! Grandmas ashes on sat night is amazing!
Asssscat 3000 free show (9:30) was awesome. Get in line around 6:50 with friends (and other things to help kill time), get tix at 8:15, eat/drink, come back at 9:15, sit down, and laugh your ass off.
Sometimes hit, sometimes miss.
Good for dates!
Wish they had microphones to let everyone hear clearly - good show though
My favorite show is Gravid Water, the last Monday of every month.
"Terry Withers Mysteries" is a hilarious improv show. Catch it if you get a chance.
Went here for standup and it was not great. Go to comedy cellar for standup instead
Multiple comedy shows a night, seven nights a week. Cheap drinks. Cash only.
Great space and an awesome crowd. The #deaddadsclub was an amazingly funny and touching performance
Every show will be good + $10 or less 💁
Great shows every night and if you go during the week days the lines are short. Improv Nerds Jam is definitely staying after Improv Nerds.
If you are a lady into improv, you MUST go to the monthly Lady Jam. Such a fun, supportive and creative environment.
cheap comedy almost every night
I love the UCB. Definitely catch a show whenever you're in town. FUN!
Saw the 30 rock guys do improv for $5 and they were great!
Great string of stand-up comedy on the cheap $5 after midnight. Not far from Barcade (Bar X Gaming Arcade) if you need to kill a few hours before the show!
How many S's are in ASSSSCAT? (Four.)
awesome place, great comedy
Check out Grandma's Ashes (improv team) on Saturday night and ASSCAT 3000 on Sunday. Your best bet at a celebrity appearance is ASSCAT.
Comedy, laughs, improv
Just had a very bad experience here. They refused to refund an online credit card transaction that redundantly went through, though it was no fault of my own. That's very bad business.
Mecca for emerging comics in the United States. If you want to be ahead of all your friends and see people before they become household names get here immediately.
Best comedy club in the village..
Comedy at it's finest.
There's no greater place on Earth. Gravid Water is amazing and if you come out for Channel 101 you won't be disappointed. There's ImproVSstandup, I'd go on but there's just too much.
This place is a comedy nerd's dream. Special guest stars are always possible. Take a food look at the performers on stage. You'll soon see them on TV.
Make reservations in advance on their website. Arrive early for your show and bring an umbrella if it's likely to rain because they queue everyone on the street.
THE CURFEW show was F*ing unbelievable!!!
Whiplash on Mondays at 11 is awesome and free. If you get in line 60-45 minutes before the show you will get great seats.
I don't think there is a more hit or miss place in the city. Roll the dice, take your chance.
If you like funny things, you should come here. If you like grocery store basements, you should definitely come here. See everything you can!
Always a good time here! Stop by Moda Espresso & Wine bar before the show. Free Italian appetizers with the wine!
$10 for a ticket. Totally worth it!! They are all hilarious. If you are going to a weekend show at night, make sure to get there early because the line gets extremely long.
Reserve your tickets online and get in line 30 mins before the show starts. Cash only.
Best improv in New York, period. Come on a weekday to avoid crowds and a weekend to say hi to Amy and Seth.
Best comedy show in NYC.
No credit cards and pricy cocktails
You'll cry from laughter at UCB! Admission is just $10 or you can wait to get in for free!
We got there at 7:30 to wait in line for tickets to the 9:30 free show on Sunday (they pass them out at 8:15) and were put on standby, but still got in. If you want to be sure to get in, show up early
Get a reservation and show up early or it is standing room only.
