    I knew of this memorial but didn't realize it was dedicated to USMC. Visited with Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (6.11.16) - photo shows all Marine vets of our group with some current members.

    If you go to just the right spot to to the west of the memorial, across the grass. You can see the Washington Memorial in the background. Great place to take a picture.

    Worth the walk but leave it till last as it is a short walk from here to Roslyn metro stop to get you back into Washington. Or if you have the energy, walk to DC across the bridge from here

    Visit this location during the summer at 7pm for the sunset performance of the Marine Corps Band, they also practice at 7:30 am in the same spot.
