Pierogies - I loved the goat cheese & arugula, and the sweet potato. And good God that peanut butter pie...
Classic NYC spot - open late with great pierogies and potato pancakes. The beef stroganoff was excellent as well!
The pierogi and borscht are great, but try the kasha also
No borscht can touch this! Seriously the best one. I understand there are different kinds but once you taste this you wonder why.
Can't go wrong with huge plate of pierogis!
Avoid the Wednesday Special: Chicken Paprikash. It's bland and sorely missing the key ingredient, paprika.
As a midwestern boy hailing from the great state of Perogie (Ohio), I was disappointed in Veselka's food.
24 hours of heaven. Get the meat plate!
Quintessential late night East Village experience. Matzo Ball soup and all-day breakfast specials, Arugula & Goat Cheese Perogies are great (but on the smaller side).
Has a great variety of food
These short rib pierogies are fire.
Awful burgers, but good borscht and perogies. Stick to the Ukrainian menu and expect basic Ukrainian dishes (lots of white bread, cabbage, sausage, potatoes, and pancakes).
get breakfast for lunch!
Get a variety of pierogi and an ice-cold cherry lime rickey. The little cup of grilled onions and sour cream are heaven!
Great easy spot for late night food and a beer. Short rib pirogies pan fried are the way to go. And the boiled spinach and cheese.
great dumplings and bigos. extra krout. ps...chloe sevigny is a reg
Crowded but a good value. Try the special and don't forget to visit their pastry case!
Stuffed cabbage. Stuff it down your mouth.
Pierogies are solid. Cold borscht was okay.
Pierogies are solid.
try authentic ukrainian dumplings (pierogi) here. Delicius meal.
Borscht and varenky are definitely the best things here. Very neat and nice little place. Below was a sweet, blueberry varenky (a special) and potato varenky. Very delicious. Great service.
Their Lamb/Feta and Turkey Burgers are love at first sight. Definitely the best burger bun that I have ever tasted. * It's open 24/7 and the service is always quick, professional and cheerful.
The food is really great. The Potato Pancakes, Breakfast Corn Beef Special, Lamb/Feta Burger, the Pierogis, Cabbage Roll and Beef Stroganoff are to die for! The service is prompt and efficient. Enjoy!
I had the Bœf Stroganoff, which was excellent. Add some Sauerkraut. :-)
Borscht & dumplings
The pierogi is soooo gooood. Also good is the salmon latka eggs benedict.
Did you get the corned beef hash? No? Go back immediately and get the corned beef hash.
I got the spinach/cheese, meat, sauerkraut, and another arugula one... and woah. I had them friend, and was blown away. I will be back here for sure. Best varynky I've had.
Breakfast and all the veggie pierogis. Also you need to try the cold borscht.
PIEROGIS ARE AMAZING. Use all three sauces for the best experience.
А у мого тата борщ смачніший! :Р
Come on a weekday morning for breakfast in nice, unhurried peace! The pancakes are huge and delicious, the oatmeal is superb, and the coffee is topped up frequently. Need to go back for lunch/dinner!
Why'd it take me this long to go here?!!
Perrogis that my babcia would love. The classic cheese and potato w/ cream cheese is all you need
In clutch situations go with an all out blintze
Excellent breakfast and brunch. Amazingly friendly and charming service. Go for the pancakes with eggs and corned beef.
Pierogis and omelette and custard
Pierogies are amazing, great place to go after drinking in the village for a snack. Good for dinner too
Great Ukrainian dishes.
Good place to get some Russian food super late at night.
veselka is consistently amazingly good. Try their burgers, pancakes, omlettes, perogies, salads, kibasa, blitzes, crumble apple pie (warmed up with a scoop of vainilla) , bagels..i could go on...
their big-ass rice krispy treat is so underrated
Love having meetings here and supporting the Ukraine commitment made by the USA!
It's mix of Ukrainian traditional food and modern American. We got meat combo plate - potato and meat varenyky, stuffed cabbage, borsch and salad. It was exactly the right choice! Bon appetite!
everyone comes for the pierogis but their corned beef hash is amazing and should be on your list.
Its a diner with restaurant prices and bar food. Not recommended unless its late and the only open place. Wine was simply disgusting.
