Pierogis and omelette and custard
Pierogies are amazing, great place to go after drinking in the village for a snack. Good for dinner too
Great Ukrainian dishes.
Good place to get some Russian food super late at night.
veselka is consistently amazingly good. Try their burgers, pancakes, omlettes, perogies, salads, kibasa, blitzes, crumble apple pie (warmed up with a scoop of vainilla) , bagels..i could go on...
their big-ass rice krispy treat is so underrated
Love having meetings here and supporting the Ukraine commitment made by the USA!
It's mix of Ukrainian traditional food and modern American. We got meat combo plate - potato and meat varenyky, stuffed cabbage, borsch and salad. It was exactly the right choice! Bon appetite!
everyone comes for the pierogis but their corned beef hash is amazing and should be on your list.
Its a diner with restaurant prices and bar food. Not recommended unless its late and the only open place. Wine was simply disgusting.
Chocolate egg cream!!
Go here. Best Ukraine food I've had outside Ukraine.
Pierogis are great, and the borscht is the best I've had in NYC (aside from mom's!).
Challah French toast
Ask for the real maple syrup. It's amazing
Order these fried for an extra flavor kick - Ukrainian Short Rib Pierogis with Sour Cream
For a hearty meal, try the Bigos - Ukrainian Hunter's-style stew of Kielbasa, Roast Pork, Sauerkraut & Onions. Get it with a side of Ukrainian Beet & Horseradish Salad
Must try boiled pierogis!
My ukranian friend and I each got borsch (beet soup), shared spinach and cheese dumplings + topped it off with potato pancakes w/ cream cheese and apple sauce! It was as authentic as could be
Their chicken noodle soup is great. And what is this salad dressing?! I don't know what's in it, but also great.
Short rib pierogi's were great, potato pancake was the sweet cousin of hash browns with apple sauce on top. GRITS/POACHED EGGS WAS OFF THE FIGURATIVE CHAIN. Coffee was eh, bacon was gooooooood.
Fun 4am weekend activity: try every flavor of pierogi topped with apple sauce with a buddy.
Try their 'Varenyky' - also known as pierogis or dumplings with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian fillings.
Both Stage's and Veselka's Borscht are delicious, but Veselka edges slightly ahead with their pork infused broth
Sample key items by ordering the deluxe meat plate - a set of Ukrainian Meat, Potato, and Sauerkraut/Mushroom Pierogis, a Meat Stuffed Cabbage with Mushroom Gravy, and their Grilled Kielbasa
If you're hungry, get the Deluxe Meat Plate. Excellent pierogi, kielbasa, and stuffed cabbage.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff. I've tried a few items on the menu and all were quite good. Pierogies and mearballs are to die for and Cabbage roll is delicious.
Get the arugula and goat cheese pierogies. They are the best. And the blintzes are legit. Just like my grandmother used to make.
Borscht is delish, as are the stuffed cabbage rolls and meat pierogies!(
You can pretty much point blindly at the menu and get something good, but the borscht and perogies are great
...meatballs are dry
Really delicious stuffed cabbage.
Borstch soup is great
Borscht for the win!
unexpected, but maybe the best hot chocolate I've ever had?
The apple crumb cake is bomb! Try it you won't be disappointed.
Go for the dumplings!
I was totally underwhelmed by the matzoh ball soup, sigh. Hoooowever, the pierogis could do no wrong. Skip the meat, go for the sauerkraut, cheese and arugula goat cheese flavors!
Try the Ukrainian borscht, it is great. The veal goulash is also quite good.
Pricey, but it's open at all hours and the pirogies and matzoh ball soup won't break the bank. Makes the perfect post-bar 4 am meal.
Это украинский дайнер с очень посредственной едой. Зашел сюда поесть борща и вареников. Пожалел; борщ пересолен вареники см.фото)))
The poppy seed pudding concoction! And it's dairy free
Can't beat the pierogies
Love the borscht. Nice chunks of sausage in a rich red broth.
My first Pierogi♡
I've had Mediterranean omelette with spinach and mash potato in the side.. Delicious!
