Free wifi in the station and all train cars in the Quebec-Windsor corridor :). Sweet!
The food is pretty bad here. Eat before leaving for the station.
Check out ViaRail.ca for last minute deals posted each Thursday ie one way to Toronto anywhere from $34-59
Do not eat at the restaurant. Its kinda gross. The poutine is okay.
Kind of ghetto train station... As its been said bring food
I love my Gatineau colleagues, but this has to be the most boring train station i have spent 2 hours at! Thank god for wifi!
The restaurant has the WORST customer service ever. They did everything but spit in my face when I paid them. After throwing my bagel at me. Literally. Don't bother.
If theres no assigned seating people start lining up 30mins before the train leaves. If you want a good seat its worth the waiting in line.
Just don't order a Latte here..it's just bad!
Limited food selection. Better to bring your own before arriving here.
Very limited station..... but they do have a small cafe inside if you're hungry..... Arrive very close to your departure, cause there's nothing to do on this place... :(
They could do to liven this place up. Their tuck shop is terrible for magazines, etc.
There's a couple of power outlets near Sul Posto.
Hardly any food here and the café only takes cash. Oh and there's ONE table near the back that has an outlet for your laptop. You may have to fight for it.
The train station is your best friend if you need to travel to Ottawa frequently during the winter time.
They've expanded their express deals to everyday now, not just Thurs anymore :). Check often for cheap tix!
The bagel and cream cheese is pretty dope! I accompanied it with an apple juice, I saw they had espresso but it came from a sketchy machine so I nixed that idea.
Parking pay machines are in the arrivals/departures area, NOT by the entrance/exit where you would expect them to be.
Bring cash, have food... No services here at all, ATM is mostly down and no other way to get cash.
Travel first class (at least) once just for the experience. Trust me.
The caf is a bit of a mess, bring your own food if you can!
I go to Subway or other place like that to get food to bring along. No station or train food unless I happen to be able to afford business class.
They finally replaced the ATM. It's over by the restaurant/tuck shop. Which, incidentally, does not carry OCtranspo tickets. And OCtanspo is increasing fares July 1.
The Sul Posto has terrible, unfriendly service. Expensive food and poor quality.
A basic rail station but well maintained.
There is only one store inside, that has some magazines, pop, chips, coffee and some funny/old/dtyy looking "home made" salads, paninis, and so on
Business class lounge is nice and comfortable. Complimentary coffee or soda and free wifi.
There's a ~$3 bus that will take you to Ottawa city centre / downtown, but it goes near/through the University of Ottawa, which has a surprising concentration of obnoxious children.
If you need a place to hang out hours before the station opens at 5AM, go to the Tim Hortons on Altavista.
Unlike the airport, the train station closes at 11:30 PM and reopens at 5:00AM. Security guard will be grumpy if you don't leave.
All the drink dispensers are broken and will eat your change.
1 hour free parking!
Restaurant is under new & nicer management but is still very pricey.
Need business class ticket for lounge access, not just a status member of via preference unfortunately
The Café is certainly not amazing but it seemed a lot better than most of its foursquare reviews to me. Wide selection of sandwiches and other edibles which were better than food court quality.
Via Rail Rocks!
Pedestrian access is a joke.
Restaurant in the station is great & they have an ATM! Had a Thai chicken sandwich, deelish!
I've heard of child height urinals, but not child width ones. Weird!?
Stay near your gate to avoid waiting to board if you're early!!
Le petit café Sul Posto....des gens très gentil et la bouffe est très bonne!! :)
Retard du train: fréquent :-(
