They had an awesome Whiskey list and their house made bacons were delicious, but the menu was overpriced and it was very cramped. Would go back only for drinks and bacon, not a meal

Amazing cocktails, especially the Bee Charmer and Commodore. Don't forget to try their fried pickles as well. The space is a bit tiny so it can get a little crowded but it's absolutely wonderful.

Don't be deterred by the waitlist. Leave your name, then catch the bartender's eye and wait in the back til a seat opens up at the bar. Best cocktails in the city.Enjoy an old-fashioned with a burger.

I had the Whiskey wait experience. Not worth doing it again. Drinks = awesome! Waited 3+ hrs to eat at 11:30 pm. Get on the list early to avoid wondering if they forgot to call your cell.

There is a waiter who reminds me of Aaron eckhart. The burger was amazing and now a fan of scotch and whiskey. They also have fries fried in duck fat. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more

It’s small, it’s crowded, and getting through the door on a busy night can be a nightmare. But nothing in the world pairs quite so well as a $70 pour of whiskey, neat, and a $3 order of tater tots.

    Philadelphia Magazine · January 3, 2012

The best shrimp and grits I have had outside grandma's kitchen... No frills or foo foo, just straight flavor.. And they even toss in an egg!

I don't live in Philly, but this is easily one of my favorite bars in the world. Great list of whiskey, scotch and rye. Always there after dinner for a rye and cask ale.

The Whiskey King burger is the epitome of decadence. Truly delicious. If you aren't into foie gras however, you can put together your own burger from the variety of available toppings.

Besides the American whiskeys, they have an extensive selection of scotch, and international whiskies, e.g. Kavalan, Amrut Fusion, and some lesser known Japanese whiskies.

Try the Tater tots. The duck fat fries may get all the attention at Jose Garces’s bar, but his version of the frozen-food-aisle favorite is the real spud-centric star. Read more

Can't go wrong with any of their Prohibition and Prohibition Repeal cocktails. Get the Kentucky Hot Brown, you will not be sorry. Screw it, everything here rocks.

Best burger in Philly hands down. Decadence at its finest. Foie gras, truffled mushrooms, bleu cheese, fried egg and bacon. Bring on the heart attack!

    Patrick W · September 9, 2014

Like many other Garces restaurants (in my experience at least), the service is hit or miss, and often surprisingly rude. It's enough to almost ruin the experience. That said, the food/whiskey rocks.

    Nick Montoya · March 6, 2010

Get the Whiskey King burger, with foie gras, bacon, bleu cheese, and onions. I wouldn't really EVER say a burger is worth 26 bucks, but, absolutely is.

    Adam Kaye · July 5, 2010

You cannot go wrong with the grilled chicken sammich. I shit you not it is deliciousness. Do it. Oh and be prepared...those long hots will make you sweat!

OMG the Chicago dog is the best hot dog I've ever had in my life 🙌🏼 and their milkshakes are not to be missed! Amazing staff and service too.

Order the thick-cut, bacon-topped Whiskey King burger from Iron Chef Jose Garces' acclaimed whiskey bar, which earned 2 bells from critic Craig LaBan. You won't be disappointed.

Only worth it for the burgers and whiskey. I don't like either, so I was underwhelmed. Got the pulled pork (decent) and the beer list is good, but there are better options.
