W Chicago - City Center is nestled in the middle of Chicago's vibrant cultural attractions and is steps from the Willis Tower, the Chicago Art Institute, music at Millennium Park, Block 37, Downtown Chicago shopping and the Chicago Theatre District.
Nice, clean rooms but the city view is limited
Great hotel lobby to work out of downtown. They have free coffee in the lobby.
doesn't feel as modern as most other Ws
I expect more from a W. Dislike: the lack of water pressure in the bathroom, the ultra-sensitive temperature-swinging sink, and even something as simple as the walls being painted plain off-white. Boo
Great location! Cool set up. Elevators will trip you out! Great place to stay if you are in your 20s and 30s. Very close to train stop!
Hotel room was a bit smaller than expected but it works just fine for the 2 nights. The room was super clean, the lobby was gorgeous! The gents out front will hail cabs for you. Great hotel overall!!
Better have status here, or your room will be tiny
Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at :)
Don't get the wonder room unless your a small person and alone.
Rooms are a little small, but the atmosphere makes up for it and more.
Not ideal for weekends-- it's a tad far away from the fun places in river north. Sometimes there are odd mechanical noises. Lauren the bartender is awesome; get the van gough espresso vodka shot.
Excellent service & room was great. Will definitely return
This place is AWESOME. Think Trendy Club + Modern hotel.
The elevators can tell time.
Lobby is a bit too dark. Don't walk in with your shades on. :-)
The Concierge Pierre is the best in the city, ask him anything he will set up like a Rockstar. We had the luxury of having him as our Concierge last yr when we stayed at the WLakeshore. Tip him well.
Free WiFi in the lobby, but not in the bedroom. Annoying. Should be an added "perk" as an SPG member.
They definitely want to make sure they have what you want when you want it. Included in the snack bar was a box with condoms, lubricant and gum...#beprepared
In "the loop"--walking distance to Starbucks/24hr Dunkin Donuts & quick sandwich shops
Say "no" to cozy rooms! They are way too small and way too noisy... and I'm from NYC! Really they shouldn't be using these rooms in their current condition.
TONS of fun at a charity event last night! Bartender, Tanya in the lounge is great!
Try the tomato soup that is on the menu - it is wonderfully comforting and served at the right temperature
Amazing rooms and great location. Enjoyed every moment ;-)
Bring a Mifi card.
The bartenders are quite skilled at dealing with the masses of business types. A bit low-key compared to other W's I've stayed at, and most shops and restaurants right nearby close early.
You can order room service from the IPO menu, in addition to In Room Dining.
One of my favorite hotels. Very trendy lobby & bar downstairs (disco balls!). Friendly staff. Very spacious rooms versus other W's I've stayed at. Good location.
Parking is outrageous. Going a block up and go to self park. Its 28$ a day.
The truffle fries are amazing!
Couch in room was stained in 3 places. No coffee in lobby as advertised at 8am. Bed was very comfy though and room was nice. Lobby bar was great.
Terrible attitude at the night desk - I had missed a train and walked in. I'm a lifetime Gold SPG member, and they tried to sell me a room (Instead of Giving me it on points)
The in-room massage was amazing. Schedule an appointment and they show up at your room and take care of everything.
These are the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in! Stuck in a broken elevator, the lobby is too crowded and the staff isn't great.
It's nice n comfortable but hotel doesn't have hotel parking which sucks which cost $55 a night.
Kick back on the second level under the rococo gold-leaf vaulted ceilings.
Where's the free wifi?
Don't hesitate to ask for late check out...they also have a promo with Acura, usually can schedule a ride (only a drop off, but still) instead of taxis/the L
The girl at the front desk upgraded us with a view of the courtyard. There is NO courtyard!
Beautiful hotel, put parking rates are crazy for over six hours $55.00 dollars geesh!!
Great concierge service here.. Ask for Eden..for restaurant tips and events around town. She knows her stuff!
Outstanding Concierge team!
The staff go out of their way to provide the best service they can. The "Acura Experience" needs to extend their hours. No Bliss Spa so go to the JW Marriott across the street.
Fresh marshmallow chocolate cookies every evening!!
Best service you'll ever receive. Do not pass up an opportunity to stay at a W.
Great service. Even the tea was well served.
Be sure to set your own alarm, the wake up call came late...
Bring earplugs, you can hear the L run a few minutes.
nice lake view
This is by far my favorite W. Excellent, friendly staff, larger than usual rooms for a W.
Ask for laralin when you are planning a surprise or need anything! She really goes above and beyond!
Pimm's Cup. Tasty.
Such an amazing hotel experience. The attention to detail is fantastic. Make sure to always check what they are offering near the checkin desk. They free Gatorade for the runners after the marathon.
Taco day is by far the best.
Not only the hotel, but the lounge that spills into the lobby has become a staple. Amazing vibe and the perfect setting to unwind with friends while the liquor and conversation flow.
Vanessa at the concierge desk is amazing at her job! Very detail oriented and friendly!
Awesome tip from Allen at the front desk - signing up for the Magic program gets you an extra 500points/night towards your SPG card!
The W hotel, lobby is OK but room was very small and now feel like W hotel
IPO restaurant has amazing Nutella French Toast for breakfast! (hit up sweat to avoid the guilt trip)
Rooms are cool as long as you are not claustrophobic! Nice lobby living room. They really took care of me after late arriving flight with good meal served in the moving room lobby.
Good luck getting your workout in at this hotel! The exercise room situation is unacceptable! Not much equipment and many pieces are, and have been, out of order for weeks, VERY FRUSTRATING!!
Try something different: the Crispin cider is quite good!
Very noisy!!!!! Can totally hear the L run every few minutes. Convenient location to offices. Dead on Sunday night. Would not recommend for leisure stay
Awesome comp breakfast buffet
Gorgeous and stylish lobby.
Bring earplugs and an eye mask if you're a light sleeper. The rooms don't black out and there's a train that runs right through your hotel room every 10 minutes.
I love how no matter how long I've been away, this still feels like home. Humberto, Tree, and Jaime are wonderful!!!
Make sure you ask for Alfredo in the dining room, he will take great care of you.
Best late night room service- grilled cheeses with french fries, mmmm!!
Lobby bar is a great combination of festive and private. Truffle fries are just ok, not as good as Fox & Obel.
Great hotel! Make sure you call Whatever/Whenever
Graham, your very capable bartender, makes some killer martinis!!
if you have a pooch, you can cocktail w/ him/her! totally dog friendly!!!
