People tend to check in during these times:
Fresh air and great view
The high line of the north, a great connector that's worth a walk, run, or bike ride.
Great for jogging across!!
The view, the air and just the overall feeling you get from walking to and from the walkway.
Loved it a few years ago but disappointed in lack of services this year.
Fun way to spend an afternoon. It's about 1.28 miles across each way. Great views.
Nice afternoon walk or bike ride
Gorgeous views! A great place to take a leisurely stroll. Nice breeze all year round. Bring a hat with a visor. Don't come without your camera. And bring a bottle of water. I love it.
The view is great, but it's disappointingly un-parklike. It's a big concrete walkway with 2 benches in the middle.
Beautiful. Even in the winter
It's the best walk ever not to mention it is freezing but yet so refreshing.
The view is hard to beat. The wind is constant. Ignore the bitter locals who hate this walkway.
The scenic view of the hudson. Great relaxing walk as well.
This is the best thing to happen to the city of Poughkeepsie in years. Beautiful views and easy access to both sides. The best part is that The Hudson Valley Rail Trail connects for a great bike ride.
Awesome! Love it. There is no shade so summer sunny days are hot... but with a sun hat it is beautiful. Or try early morning sunrise, that is my favorite time :-)
This is a great place to jog or run. The bridge itself is about 2 km across.
What a perfect, gorgeous day to walk across the Hudson. It was awesome!
Great views beautiful lady and good weather who could ask for more!! Not me
Enjoy the walkway.
Best views in the Hudson Valley!
This is definitely a great spot for the annual balloon fest and I suggest get there by 5:30am as the parking lot fills quickly and swamped with hundreds of people
Stop for dinner after at Mariners on the Hudson, west side. Highland
Great for riding your bike across. Be observant of walkers though. Also it is not only dog friendly with doggie bags & trash cans, but there's water bowls on the walkway as well
BRING PLENTY OF WATER for your dogs and/or try not to take dogs up on extremely hot days! Surface temp of the concrete is much worse for pups & many suffer from heat stroke! Stay alert & be careful!
If you are not from Poughkeepsie, take the Amtrak train to Poughkeepsie Stn. rest-up. Bring your bicycle with to ride the bridge. For lunch try the delicious lamb gyros sold at the entrance.
A relaxing walk looking around and seeing the sights.
Bring a windbreaker ... Windy but refreshing !!!
Use the restroom at either end because once you are up there, you're stuck. Lol!
This is something you just have to do. It's an amazing walk. Very beautiful.
Really great for a quick run. Who wouldn't love this view?!
Walkway Over the Hudson is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. There's a $5 parking fee that's good for the entire vehicle, but you don't have to pay to walk across the bridge.
Awesome, the world's highest pedestrian bridge
Start the morning with a gorgeous walk over this resurrected train bridge, now a state park.
Bring sun screen. It isn't located in the best part of town. Parking at the bridge is $5.
An old bridge that was converted to a walkway/bikeway. Spectacular views of the Hudson river and surrounding areas.
Walk the bridge with your dog. Dog friendly with bags and trash cans at each end.
How many people have walked over the Hudson River? Just do it!
Walking distance from the Poughkeepsie Metronorth stop. Pretty views of the Hudson River and beyond. Very easy to walk & bike.
Bring water and a camera. If you bring your dog please pick up after it.
make sure you tie back your hair, because it is SO windy!
The new benches are made from salvaged wood from the Coney Island Boardwalk
Perfect walk on a sunny day with a slight breeze!
Longest pedestrian bridge in the united states. Its gonna be windy, so either watch or don't bring a hat.
3miles roundtrip...honestly not too exciting
this is such a fun and scenic walk, perfect for a sunny day. Smooth walking and great views up and down the river !
