People tend to check in during these times:
The Western Wall, Wailing Wall or Kotel is a remnant of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard, and is arguably the most sacred site recognized by the Jewish faith outside of the Temple Mount itself.
One of the holiest place for us, happy and excited to visit
Regardless of your feeling towards (any) religion this location has been heralded for centuries and there is some feeling of spirituality in the air
Beautiful place. Impressive no matter your beliefs.
B' H Thank G-d
Don't turn your back to the wall
Blessed are those who seek me early!!
Nice to visit, but they keep separated man and women, which nowadays is senseless.
My dream is to piss on this wall
Get a chair, sit down and enjoy the spectacle.
quiet somber area. even the less spiritual feel a connection.
Emotional and breathtaking even though I'm not Jewish. I went there on Shabbat and I did touch the wall and stuck my prayers in it.
Ones in a lifetime.
If you are reading Foursquare tips at The Kotel you might be secular
This place has beed taken hostage by the Ultra Orthodox Jews. And they're the ones who makes the rules here. Reform Jewish Women are discriminated here. Only the Superior Men have shade & women "0".
The holiest shrine in the Jewish world. If you’re lucky, your visit might coincide with a Bar Mitzvah celebration, which regularly take place here. Read more at http://bit.ly/1iLmYRx
Dress conservatively, saw people walking backwards 😒. The men and women areas are seperate. Don't ask for directions to masjid- aqsa😀. You will get dirty looks if not get ignored. No smoking.
On holidays - take a bus... Much better!
Did you know the Western wall is 488m long?
For me, this was sad view. People spend their time praying, instead of doing something real in their life. Also, women's and men's parts are separated, this is shame such thing exists in 21 century.
Men on one side, women on the other. Bring a scarf to cover your head. Walk backwards away from the wall to a respectful distance to leave.
I prayed here and didn't get any results -- it was like talking to the wall.
Holy place, כמה קדושה במקום אחד,שבת שלום לכל עם ישראל!
Wonderful place! :)
A very special place......
מקום הכי קדוש בעולם, Make a wish!
Feel the history breathing from every pore of this fantastic city.
You can't take photos on Friday afternoon or Saturday because its Shabbat.
Put on tefillin
Make sure to tour the tunnels under te Kotel
Guys go from the left and girls go from the right, don't make the mistake like me.....
Leave a note in the wall with your prayers
The Kotel tunnel tour is a must
Please respect the local rules! Proceed to the Wailing Wall only if you wear a hat.
Pray for Israel and world peace.
An awe inspiring place in the heart of Jerusalem, Israel
Love to live in jerusalem!!!)
Did you know that the Western Wall is the last remains of the second temple? This is a site that our passengers love to visit!
There's an airport-like security check before you get in, but definitely worth the hassle. Great place.
The Holiest Place For Jews On Planet Earth..
Check out the Western Wall on a Friday at dusk... although you won't be able to take pictures, the Shabbot celebration is truly magical.
Fascinating watching the praying and worshipping! Amazing history
Beautiful. Such an amazing place to daven.
no photos allowed on sabbath (saturday), never the less maybe the most impressive time to visit the western wall
Place your hands upon the sacred wall and open your heart to what God says!
