    Great deep dish pizza!

Cheese Fries. Fries are golden and crispy; melted mozzarella on top doesn't soggy them.

The Wigatoni. My favorite baked pasta dish. Chocked full of Italian sausage.

Service super slow last visit (hour for food, no explanation or apology and not crowded), has gone down hill since opening, too bad, food is quite good!

    Jason T. Hauser · February 12

Food service very slow. Deal breaker.

Italian grinder on a toasted hoagie roll. It offers plenty of mozzarella and sweet red pepper, but could have used more sausage.

Great homemade chips. Great pickles. Good breaded tenderloin. Good service. Too many kids :/

Twickenham, flying tomato style. It is the best pizza I've had in Iowa.

I usually prefer thick onion tongs, but the thin ones they make here are quite good.

It's already been said, but the Flying Tomato pizza is pretty incredible. Then, just take your pick of a craft beer off their menu and enjoy.

Flying Tomato Pizza, baby! The crust is flaky like a biscuit.

This is my favorite place to eat in Ankeny. It is a hidden gem! Their Flying Tomato pizza is amazing, quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had (not joking) -- but a large is huge! Worth a trip.

It's fantastic pizza get the Chicago style!

Service was slow. I ordered a salad and I was the last person served in my party. Maybe if I'd gotten a pizza I would have gotten better service!

Pub Special on thin crust with pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, onion, and a bounty of sweet red pepper. Crisp crust, zippy red sauce, plentiful toppings.

Careful though. The host staff is nice but our server had no idea what to do when we told her the food was cold and we needed drink refills

The Flying Tomato, a pan version of their thin-crust with extra cheese on top and slices of tomato. One-of-a-kind in these parts.

MUST HAVE the Mac and Cheese with bacon. It is the most incredible Mac and Cheese I've ever had INMAHLIFE. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Ask for the homemade chips instead of fries; they're great with ranch.
