Not so great for a vegetarian. I had the veggie stir fry entre that came with potato salad and spaghetti (!?) bizarre and not particularly tasty...

Yakitori Taisho is an amazing experience in meat on skewers. You know it has to be good because Japanese teenagers line up around the corner before it even opens. Definitely get in early or wait

Best Japanese food I have had in the city. If the line is too long, pop into their other spot Oh Taisho next door for similar menu.

Amazing Negi Ramen at half the price of Ippudo's! Be warned, long wait and tiny bathrooms, but authentic Japanese cuisine.

A giant rat ran up the wall next to our table while my friends and I were having dinner. Don't think I can come back, so sad bc I used to like this place a lot.

Sorry. Maybe I'm missing something..It was such a dirty & dingy (especially in the back room by the kitchen) subterranean spot that I couldn't stomach staying & eating here.

Fantastic yakitori in a lively neighborhood. Nearly everything grilled on a stick. Bonus points if you get your group seated in the back room too. Usually a queue everyday of the week.

The sabashio (grilled mackerel) was delicious, as was the fried tofu. However, our yakitori set came out cold and the wait staff asked us "are you sure?", which was totally the wrong approach.

This is what drunk night snack bliss looks like. Order skewers of hot, crackly chicken skin ($1.25), velvety beef tongue ($2.50) and wash it all down with more Japanese beer on tap. Read more

The onigiri is huge and too filling. Split 5–10 skewers and one onigir between two people and you're set. My favorites were garlic and liver.

Favorite yakitori spot in St. Marks. It's small and a bit cramped but food is too delicious to care. Their ramen is good too. They also have frozen Calpico (adult version!), so yummy !
