Occupying 17,000 square feet in the heart of Jack London Square, this live music club and upscale Japanese restaurant has been in that location since 1997 and has become one of the East Bay's greatest destinations.
Great stage area but 4 people to those tiny tables is a bit much. Food was okay not fantastic and a bit over priced but the ambiance was enjoyable. I'd go back again.
If u are a meat eater, go for the steak and pepper skewers along with the shrimp tempura. You won't regret the combination of flavors.
If you come here, you should probably dress up, just FYI.
Cooool place to chill out.
Eat before the show for the best reserved seats!
I'm glad they're still around
It's a great place to see live music and the food is good too! General admission shows are a blast but get your fix ahead of time. It's a small venue.
A bit pricey but the food is good. If you don't want Japanese they serve burgers and other types of food during the show. TIP: Dinner patrons get first dibs on show seating. First come, first served
Order food and bevs while watching the show. Shows are about an hour so servers come by twice on average to take your order.
Go to Yoshis! Either Oakland or SF ,great experience and some top notch entertainment like CHANTE MOORE!
Chill spot to bring a date, girlfriend or wife. Get Cousy with the artist in this snug friendly environment. A little over 300 capacity. Every seats a good seat.
There is a two drink minimum while at the show
The place is open seating, so if there for a show make sure to make a reservation for dinner before your show - you get preferred (better) seat selection while at dinner.
The lobster tempura is delish !!
Great happy hours!
Awesome place to listen jazz, R&B and enjoy your favorite artist/ musician.👍😃
Try the One Hope Cabernet

Great jazz. Overpriced food and don't order a martini unless you like ice chips
Eat at the restaurant first and they'll let you reserve seats for your show. Even if all you get is appetizers and drinks, you'll still be able to get better seating.
Get here early.
Loved Sheila E. & Freddie Jackson; memories :D
The Brussels sprouts are such a great starter that we indulged with a second order. Both our meals were delicious [sea bass and lamb loin].
Try the Seasonal Vegetable Tempura - Loved them all. Especially the okra and lotus.
Try the Omakase Nigiri - Maguro (tuna), Tai (red snapper), Sake (salmon), Hamachi (yellowtail), and Kani (crab)
Try the Crispy Brussel Sprouts - Really crispy and yummy. Panko bread crumbs make the difference.
Try the Seasonal Vegetable Tempura - Loved them all especially the okra and lotus.
I saw Dr John here and it was awesome! Great seats, acoustics, crowd, and show! This was a great experience and I can't wait to come back!
Try the Omakase Nigiri - Kinda average but okay.
Try the Seasonal Vegetable Tempura - Love the mall especially the okra and Lotus root.
Try the Panko Fried Brussels Sprouts - Dr John concert in 1 hour on Fat Tuesday!
Crispy Brussel sprouts are deleesh!
Try the Spicy Tempura Roll - One of the most amazing rolls I've ever had.
great & serious jazz venue. the sushi isn't bad either.
Food was really good but, the service was slow. There was a show going on so I'll give them that but, there were a lot of times I was finished with my water and it was awhile before it got refilled.
Try the Hamachi Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Sashimi Ichiban - "Another tongue boner" - my gf
Try the Crispy Brussel Sprouts - Deilicious. Well cooked. Not over cooked
Try the saki flights - they're great value.
Jazz for the New Year
Great intimate venue for jazz...the restaurant is very good too.
Have dinner first and then go to the 10pm show - You'll have a good chance to sit up front for wonderful jazz artists like Nancy Wilson, DIana Krall and Steve Tyrell
The sushi is awesome, and are a bit bigger (and pricier) than other sushi places. Naturally busy when there are shows, but service is still top notch. Looking forward to catching a show!
