A Manhattan landmark, Zabar’s is part Jewish deli, part specialty store, and part home goods retailer. Go for the cheese, olives, and SodaStream carbonator refills (and the free rugelach samples). Read more

Props for having the big jar of salted capers that no other store wants to carry. Also great stinky, gooey, washed rind cheese section. One of the few groceries in town that does not disappoint.

A very nice market south of campus. It's worth a visit, even if just to experience it's cuteness! Great for kitchenitems and utensils on the upper level.

Smoked mussels are great. Sullivan street pizza slices, donut plant donuts. Best Hungarian salami around - get the domestic brand. Best deal? Ham and cheese croissant in the cafe. $2.50!

They have the best chocolate chip scones. If you go to the bread counter near closing time they will often sell you lots of pastries for a reduced price. Like 6 bagels for $1.
