Come hungry and get the tasting menu. Standouts for me were fried cauliflower, roasted lamb, hummus and laffa bread, and smoked sable
Get one of the tasting menus - the service was impeccable and food phenomenal!
Easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Go for the "Tayim" - you'll be incredibly full (like, for a few days), but not disappointed.
Everything was truly phenomenal except the lamb shoulder—I'd stick with the mezze and skewers.
It's all fantastic
fantastic. Loved everything. Taboulleh was okay, but even then it was good.
The best food I've ever had! This place is AMAZING. Grilled haloumi, Turkish style hummus, grape leaves, and branzino for main dish. Everything about this place is fabulous
This is the best restaurant in all of Philly. Definitely get the Turkish hummus, fried haloumi, grape leaves (spicy), and the branzino entree. It's incredible!!!
They don't have falafel
Serving sizes are huge so don't order too much, but you'll want to because everything is awesome.
I'd be happy just eating the hummus but the whole menu is amazing.
Hummus -- best in the world !
The hummus is very very good.
Four varieties of hummus to choose from—the Turkish was the best I've ever had.
The lamb is to die for.
The best hummus and great food all around. Good for private events too
A must have Philly dining experience...
Lamb shoulder! Yum!
Best restaurant in Philly. Probably the best meal of the year for me. Lemonana. Must try haloumi and cauliflower. Any of the al'haesh options. Worth staying for dessert too!
The small plates and salads can be a meal by themselves. Their specialty appears to be roasted lamb, but it's available only with the tasting menu, which is unfortunate.
Sexy ambience and amazing food! ❤️ the Fried Cauliflower, Crispy Haloumi, Chicken Freekah, Lamb Shoulder and Sirloin Steak. All of the desserts were equally as charming as the main courses.
Food is on fleek
Get lots of small plates to share. Service is slow so expect a 2h dinner.
Delicate food with great waiters/waitresses. I'd recommend the tasting menu ($42) for first-timers.
Best menu in the city for the price.
Get a group of 9 for the lamb shoulder
An amazing restaurant that offers unique dishes. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone delicious, and the fried cauliflower with mint and labneh was delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful.
Interesting menu, but small portions and over priced.
Order the halloumi! Cheesegasm
my favorite place in philly. warm hummus is divine. cauliflower is amazing. cocktails are scrumptious.
Get the tasting menu to try lots. The hummus is amazing. Still need to go back for the lamb shoulder though.
Maybe the best restaurant in the city. The hummus, the laffa bread, the mezza, the lamb shoulder! Skip trying to get a reso and just get on the list for a bar seat.
Hummus and restaurant week menu just great!
Best hummus in Philly, by far
Sable, haloumi, cauliflower, potatoes, all of the kebabs. All of the everything. Except don't bother with the chicken freekah. I would travel on a plane for 3 hours to eat here.
The tasting menu is the way to go for newbies.
If you want to splurge on a high end restaurant in Philadelphia, this is the one.
Zahav is Israeli cuisine at its finest. Go with a group to sample more dishes. It is difficult to go wrong with anything here. I always try to stop by when visiting Philadelphia.
I especially liked the beef stew and the lamb merguez. It's all mezze style so you can choose many small dishes.
Try $42.00 menu. You will get totally 16 courses and everything was really perfect taste. Waiters know how to serve and have knowledge about foods. One of the best restaurant in Philadelphia.
It's all about the hummus. My personal favorite is the tehina. Then have fun with the small plates. The fried cauliflower, crispy Haloumi and grilled duck hearts are particularly good.
The best Israeli food in town. #1 hummus.
You can't go wrong with anything on Chef/Owner Solomonov's menu, but don't miss the Whole Roasted Lamb Shoulder with Pomegranate and Chickpeas. And the Sweetbreads changed our lives.
Pro tip: The Tayim Tasting Menu is a bargain at $39 for five courses.
